I flew to both Singapore and Vancouver as well :D My first experience with Air Canada was awful...and the air stewards were all anti and uncles...SQ a lot better but back in 1990s when there was not many PRC you could feel there were quite alot of discrimination issues...
Hmm, as a Singaporean, I feel some of your points are spot on. We have a mixed and blended society here with various ethnic groups and people stay close to one another and so the interactions resulted in what we call SINGLISH, which is understandable by most people here and we can all live happily and harmoniously among all without discrimination. We are a city state, small land area with a big population (even smaller than Taipei city many times) and so people feel stressed and indifferent. But as a melting pot, we do have many interesting culture, food culture, arts, entertainment among others that make this "little red dot" shine brightly in the world and a nation that commanded respect by other countries including the superpowers!

Same as Hong Kong. A city/state/territory that super powers allow you to stay since they need some buffer zone

We have a lot of humble Singaporean traveller, not judge by education or riches I have seen. Even crew of Sq most of them are quite close to heart to the traveller. A few years ago, I was attended by a SQ senior lady dress in green uniform..treat equally well for every or anyone. Sometimes we as economy class traveller, we observe and sense and see many types of travellers, some make noise over little but some just quiet through the whole journey. It is the upbringing, or values or belief system that resulted the behaviour of a person.

Service from SIA really is a cut above the rest, I really missed flying with them. Haven't been able to since the pandemic last year.

Over my years of services with SQ, the friends I have made with 90% were in economy. Some so closed that we have kept in touch for like 30 years. From using landline calling each other to mobile phone and now through whatsapp, line and telegram.

@@aliciajade9808 how sweet! I too made a few friends from airlines like Singapore, Malaysia, emirates and Sri Lankan. We keep in touch a lot and when they have a chance to fly and lay over in Hong Kong, often we meet up. When I go over to their side of the world we meet up too when free. Few of them have resigned and moved on, and we are still close friends.

Think alot of us MAY have misunderstood this video. She may or may not be from SQ. I have taken tons of flight to China. Majority SQ. Shanghai air and China eastern. What she have just discribed sound like China eastern flight with majority 85% of the passenger are from mainland China. Alot have not travelled before or never visit overseas before. CHina eastern is not too bad. Wait until U see those from, Budget airlines. Singapore Air Passengers are standard. They will want to get everything ready before taking off. Eg extra blanket, Pillow of whatever before taking off. 99% will follow the seatbelt rules. They will patiently wait to be served. Yes they will ask for extra drink. After that they will leave everyone alone. They will either be sleeping or watching the in flight movies. This sounds abit steroetyping and racist. But sad to say. is the truth. Most who misbehave on CN-SG flight. Most are from country side and never travel before. It feels like it's their first time and trying to get their $ worth. Even China Passenger on SQ flight is ok. I witness all she have mentioned in China Eastern. Best part? Sometimes. after their inflight meals. Instead of waiting for the aircrew to clear one by one in sequeence. They will just put it on the asle floor. I still remeber one comical experience on jetstar. From Ningbo to Changi in 2012. At airport. Passenger super noisy. sounds like from country side. Cut que somemore. (Not for a foriegner to make noise when u are in a foriegn country) In Plane. I am pretty sure the decibel level hits 75 and above. The passenger are basically chatting standing up. Chatting with friends that are 3-4 rows away. The Aircrew even have a hard time to get them to sit down and buckle up during take off. What amaze me was the whole plane kept quiet after sereing the inflight menu. For me. I hack it. haven't really have lunch since I disembark from vessel. So i proceed to order what I want to eat and the beers. And there. I have other passenger staring at me while I am eating. China Passenger on SQ. They will behave like everyone. The only time U will know they are from China is when they are filling i the immigration card. Otherwise. manners and behave is no diff from most of the passengers. Just one of my many flight experience.
I love your contents! We should always remind ourselves to treat others the way we want to be treated. And I love china and it’s rich culture! Keep making videos like this! Cheers!
I have never felt that speaking English means being international. I think true internationalization is to make myself a symbol of my own culture on the international stage. This is why I learn more and more Chinese culture, because I wanna be the representative of China and Chinese people on the international stage. In this world, people who have received education can all speak English, but only your own culture can make you different and unique. I never think that internationalization is equivalent to Americanization. If you insist that it is, it is the lowest level of internationalization.

Well educated can speak many foreign languages, only low educated and narrow minded speak one or two languages. Either we move forward with new world standard or we left behind, nobody care about retard. That is the reality in Asia.
