Excellent shooting! Especially with the wind kicking around. I purchased a M48A about six months ago from a LGS and gave five hundred and fifty smackers for it. But, it was pristine and probably new. Although I might have given too much for it, I’m happy because I got a really nice rifle that for the most part is a look alike to the K98. I would have had to triple or quadruple the cost to get a K98 in this condition.

I had a M48A in Brand new condition that I bought in 2001 for 150 with Bayonet, sling and ammo pouches. Great shooter that I wish I still owned.

Nice to hear another enthusiast like myself, talking about his M48 ! I take mine apart and look at all its numbers and stampings.... A thing of beauty , but designed for only one thing: to take down an enemy. When I fire the first 2 rounds at our local range , a crowd forms. Nice video.

I typically just put the safety in the middle position and slide the bolt forwards and back to unload the rounds. Safe and effective. Solid vid, bro.

Technically 7.92X57 or 31 caliber. More commonly known as 8mm. I have an M-48 which I love. Never issued for $400.00 from Big 5 years ago. Nice piece.

So 8 MOA is approx. 16" diameter targets at 200 yards. Still good to be hitting them. And then 300 yards - and on out to 500 yards - great! The rifles are def capable of hits if you are. Thanks.

*8:25 "This is a cock on closed action" should read "cock on opening", as are all Model 98 variations. Other than that, I enjoyed your video, thanks.

as you increased target distance, I did not see any adjustment in elevation with the rear sight. Why?
@PoindexterTactical

I did adjust the rear sight for the different distances. There's just not much difference in height from 200' to 500'. I just measured it the best I could with calipers, and it's only about 0.2" difference. Where I have the camera set at, that's really not going to show up much.

No, that Ammo is rimmed. You need either JS or IS.

Yes it does, it really makes it look very nice compared to some other Mausers.
