I think in addition to confidence you have to have a certain aura, you know that star energy, otherwise you'll just become another idol, employee, or a participant,,, even if you succeed you'll get lost the moment you quit,, i've seen a lot of idols (just saying idols since its the main subject) who are not talented but okay in what they do yet they still become a star in the public's eye cause they have that different aura, the 'star' energy that they vibrate

From watching a2k and other JYP shows he has done for his groups. I think like what yuna said he really cares about aura and confidence. Because even if you’re auditioning he wants someone with potential because potential is the first step to becoming better at something. And with JYP he wants to see the potential and confidence so then he can help or his vocal/dance teachers can help because that’s what trainees have to do is train to be better not a single trainee is perfect.

Confidence can help, but let’s be real - if you’re getting selected to be a kpop rookie without any dance, vocal, or stage experience, it’s going to have a lot more to do with how you look than anything else.
@Rosiecoffy
Жыл бұрын
Yep it's true! but they most likely won't debut any rookie idols just based on their visual. At least they have to dance and sing OK. And this can be learned as a trainee, with extra hardwork. I think she talked about confidence because what agencies are probably looking for might be people that are willing to do everything so as to get better and reach the prefect image the Agency want them to reach. They don't look for pro singer/dancer trainee from the start , but someone that can become big, and is willing to do extra work so as to reach their goal, dream. They are like shaping their raw talent. And you definitely have to be confident and passionate. If you audition you have to be confident in yourself and what you are capable of and how much you can push yourself above your own limits. You can be really good at singing from the start, if you aren't showing confidence and will to fight then you'll most likely be eaten by the trainee system and not make it at the end. Because you need to be strong to survive the trainee days, to debut and to face the harshness of idol world. What you'll do as a trainee will never be enough. So you'll have to trust yourself, your skills, be confident in who you are and want to be. You have to be strong and tough to constantly pushing yourself above the limits and be confident about taking risks, being the one that will make it at the end. Being confident isn't enough to pass audition obviously, but it's still very important in the K-pop industry. Fans that want you to do more, haters that brings you down, news papers, scandales/rumors... Will always make you doubt of yourself. I think judges and agencies are taking this in consideration. Maybe that's why she is talking about it as something all agencies are looking for. If you don't have it you most probably won't survive as a trainee so better be confident from the start.
