The second movement is amazingly performed. To me it carries the mood that even Lang Lang did not managed to covey. I am indeed amazed and grateful to be able hear and enjoy the finest form of this piece of music.

Yundi is a scapegoat for the political party to avoid the news of the explosion in shenyung. They need someone who is famous enough to cover the explosion news to the world. I bet you those who hold the flagpole of morals did one or the other of this kind of whoring or prostitution!! Can you say you never done anything wrong in your life? NO ONE is perfect!! Give people some space. 只有洲官放火,不淮百性點燈! 拿起雞毛當令箭,狐🦊 假虎畏的小人!祇有口話人, 無口話自己。無恥之徒!

Thank you so much Tracy Lee. This video reminds me the Canadian drama film Red Violin, in which Gaspar Weiss was the little child playing violin but Gaspar died when he knew he was going to lose his red violin. Yundi was fragile too. He now has a stronger heart and will survive all turbulence.

In the 1970s in a radio performance in Washington DC was I first heard this concerto. I was blown away by the lush beauty and magnificent imagery of the piece as if thunder had struck me. The touring Chinese symphony had Chinese folk violins which can express long melodic lines and can emote better than the piano. The piano here sounds too bassy and percussive. As a piano concerto, it isn't impressive as it sounds like it's trying to be like a wannabe Tchaikovsky concerto. I much prefer the chinese violin on this piece.

I agree with it, the piano sounds sort of strange
@billywongting

+Fred MyOpinion One of the reason the piano sounds bassy is that this piece is an arrangement from a Chinese secular cantata. The arrangers tried their best to transform a set of through-composed songs to a concerto. However, for me the output is still too similar to choral music instead of a solo concerto

+Fred MyOpinion I don't think Chinese violin (we call it erhu-二胡) will be able to express the background and feeling of this piece. Yellow river is our second longest river which also nuture our ancient culture several thousands years ago. It stands for a spirit of people from north part of China somehow. If you ever got a chance to Hukou fall in Shanxi Province, you will be impressed by its viriliy. Erhu fits more into a solo with grief, but this piece was created at background when we were in the second world war in order to encourge people.
@freeqwerqwer

肖玥 , the erhu sounds better w/ this piece than does a piano. I still remember that performance in Washington DC many years ago.
