Tea might be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of China, but the renowned tea-growing region of Pu’er, Yunnan province, has also quietly built up a reputation for some of the best coffee grown in Asia.
Large companies like Nestlé have used coffee from Yunnan since the 1990s. But it’s only over the past few years that high quality, specialty coffee has begun to flourish. MUNCHIES travels to Pu’er to explore a new coffee scene developing, right where the beans are grown.
