This is an instructional video on how to use the Incan Yupana, which is a calculating board similar to an abacus. I enjoy it because it feels like playing a solo chess-like game. I apologize for the hum in the background during the first part: I was filming on my kitchen table and didn't realize how much noise the refrigerator would make. If you turn the sound down low it should be tolerable.

This method is called the Tawa Pukllay method, and the name is a registered trademark. It was developed by Dhavit Prem and the Yupanki Association (www.yupanainka.com). This a part of a project to bring back the ancient Inka's math nowadays, specially to children of rural places.

Here are two people playing the game in what looks like a competitive way, but they're really just racing to see who will get done first:
• Yupana Inka - Yupanki!...
• Yupana Inka - Competen...

I could not find any English-language tutorials, so I decided to make one in case anyone else was looking. I'm an old lady who doesn't know how to edit videos, so I did this all in one take, which is why I didn't fix the hum or the occasional mistake.
