Yep. I'm Dickens He's Fenster was very popular with families and kids, as it aired in the same hour with The Flintstones.

Thank you for posting. What a blast from the past! I adore seeing the set architecture and decor of this era. Born in 1961--it is so familiar.

You're welcome! I'm Dickens He's Fenster was filmed at Desilu Studios, home of I Love Lucy, and some of the sets you see are from Lucy's original show!

I remember watching this show as an eleven year old. In retrospect, the theme music is extremely goofy, even by Three Stooges standards. John Astin did better later with the Addams Family, oddly enough marrying Patty Duke. Engels never got big, but he had enough sense to marry Shirley Jones. I cannot avoid the temptation of joking how much more famous Engels became working with Marx; there, now I've gotten it out of my system. Thanks for posting this video.

You're welcome! Creator/Producer Leonard Stern wanted Dickens and Fenster to be the TV equivalent of Laurel and Hardy, so the music is a backward version of the Laurel and Hardy theme. Irving Szathmary composed the music, and he later composed the music for the TV spy spoof Get Smart, also produced by Leonard Stern.

The vlogger mentioned the stiff competition of Route 66 and the Mitch Miller songfest on the other networks but the proceeding ABC show was at that time a top 30 show . Too much audience was lost when D/F appeared .

I only remember one episode from this show. Dickens was supposed to fire Fenster and was trying to figure a way to tell him. "Take the day off . . . for the rest of your life."

there is a faint element to Gleason's The Honeymooners here with The Flintstones proceeding this show on ABC on Friday nights . Viewers got a double dose . Musician Frank De Vol playing the whimsical boss was genius . When i was a kid I thought the musician who wrote the music for My Three Sons and this funny man were two different people with the same name .

Ms. Henry was also to be an occasional regular on Threes Company as Suzanne Somers boss , however she took ill and died . I like Ms. Henry in this role better than in IDOJ By the way Dr. Bellows was a Colonel in the Air Force and his bosses were the Generals . Tony and Roger were Air Force and Army Majors , respectively .

I'm Dickens He's Fenster producer Leonard Stern hated laugh tracks, so this series was filmed before a live studio audience.
