I saw my love Walking down the aisle And as he passed me by He turned to me and Gave me a smile Then the preacher Then the preacher The preacher joined their hands And all the people The people began to stand When I shouted It should have been me Oh, it should have been me You know it should have been me Baby, how can you do this to me You made a promise That we'd never part Then you turned around And you broke, Lord, my heart Now you're standing there Saying, I do Holding hands With somebody new When you know that It should have been me Oh, it should have been me Oh, oh, it should have been me Baby, how can you do this to me Then the preacher, whoa, yeah The preacher asked that There be silence please If any objections to this wedding Speak now or forever Forever hold your peace And I stood up and said It should have been me Oh, oh, it should have been me Jumped out of my seat and screamed It should have been me Oh, oh, oh, hey You're blowing my mind People, believe me That man is mine It should have been me No, oh, oh, you know It should have been me Oh, ho, it should have been me Oh, ho, somebody call the police That woman down there Is a doggone thief It should have been me It should have been me Oh, oh, It should have been me... I don't know what's better. The original version or the remake that Miley Cyrus done to embarrass Pete Davidson on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon? Either way not to take nothing away from Yvonne Fair song, but Miley Cyrus does justice to thus remake track that made Pete Davidson speechless, Jimmy cracking up and if someone ask her to perform a song, I bet she said, "Hold My Beer, Just Watch Me!!!" Miley's performance was solid gold hands down bar none she owns the stage and took that remake song to a whole new level.

When I first heard this song in the 70s I instantly loved it. At the time I was unhappily married to my first wife, whom I divorced not long after. Ever since KZitem became a thing I looked for this song, initially without success. When I found this particular video I was struck by how Yvonne Fair was my exe's doppelganger. Not long after, I re-established contact with my estranged daughter who I hadn't seen since she was a toddler. I sent her the link to the video. We both cried -the similarity was too much to bear. I still love it in spite of the sadness.
