Zac Efron is a trooper. The Asian household I’ve been to, used balut to initiate friends and guests over the house during parties it’s fun to see their reactions 😆 the best part is the juice-but I never enjoyed the bird with feathers

I'm a filipino, in cebu we have balut which is fully formed chick no hard part or yellow, we call it likos. It is very delicious and very tender.

Tips as a Filipino, always eat hot balut dont eat cold balut because when its not hot it tend to smell unpleasant. Also it is good to eat it whole don't eat piece per piece.

Balut is delicious. It's really high in cholesterol so it's not great for you. But it is. DELICIOUS. And the hard part (we call it the stone) does not include the beak. Depending on how mature the duckling is, you may not even get a beak. There is a variant of balut called a penoy which does not have the duckling. But the little duck is delicious so I eat balut. My wife will eat penoy only

Zac's family is family friend's with Wil Dasovich's (a model/vlogger in the Philippines) family, so he's somewhat been surrounded with Philippine culture. He's a good friend of Hayley (Wil's sister) and Zac's brother is good friends with Wil, I mean they're all friends but Hayley is closer to Zac and Wil is closer to Zac's brother. And btw Zac's brother met and was featured in Wil's vlog a while back

We eat balut while drinking liquor. It helps to be a little drunk to eat balut! But its really delicious and tasty! There are a variety of ways they actually cooked balut. My favorite is Adobong Balut!

You are so brave Zac for eating that. I don't like to eat that because of obvious reasons but it does tastes good. If I have to eat it, you just have to eat it all. You should have opted for the "penoy" it's a milder form of it.

For Balut 101 - Balut comes generally in 3 options... there's the 16, 18, and 21 days. The 21 days is when there's a almost fully formed duck in the egg... If it's your first time, don't go for the 21... what you want is the 16. The 16 still has a fertilized bird, but its so small that you can just flick it away... from there, it's like eating an egg with all egg yolks in a chicken broth soup... it actually really good... lols... and no, even for a filipino, i stay away from the 21, too bitter for my taste...

When I intro my son ( 6 yrs old) to eating balut, I told him to close his eyes and taste the fluid in the balut. He liked it. Then, I said, take a bite on the harder part. He ate the embryo and the yellow thing and said. Sarap( tastes Good!). I told him to open his eyes and showed him what he just ate. He did not cringed. From then on, balut is a welcome food. He intro his son to balut same way like I did and was successful too.😄.
