Shots not the problem. He's not going to make a living in the NBA shooting spot up 12 foot shots. He has terrible footwork on the block with his back to the basket and doesn't even attempt to get into anything but a jump hook that is slow to develop or a drop step to a dunk on which he has bad balance and will get knocked off his line time after time at the NBA level. Defensively he has huge problems dropping his hips and changing directions and he takes a ton of false steps. He's beyond a project at the NBA level.
@freedomthefreeman487

@@trainerrob1622 it’s a good thing almost every “negative” you tried to name can be mitigated by his length. He will get plenty of jams at the NBA level and with his length will be open for many jumpers. He’s not going to have a problem guarding most bigs in the NBA. And you talk about his offensive game like he wouldn’t physically dominate most these scrawny stretch bigs these days. They aren’t knocking him off his line. His biggest downfall will be most likely be being drafted to a system that doesn’t use him to his strengths. The man is taller than Wemby for Pete’s sake and the size of Yao. Also you act like he’s a finished product. I guess if the Bucks thought that about Brook Lopez he wouldn’t be in the NBA anymore. NOT!

@@freedomthefreeman487 No it can't, if it could there wouldn't be a conversation on his draft stock he'd be the clear #1 pick. Secondly we just saw this movie in the world cup... We have actual film not your very flawed opinion. At 7'4" He was flat out unplayable on a team lacked elite size. In this NBA teams will put him in an extended 1-5 high every time down the floor and his length would have no impact. You do what the coach wants but it definitly has hurt his draft stock. And tired of hearing about how slow he is. Guys like Brooke Lopez, Jonas Valanciunis and Zubac have made a good living in the NBA. Just let him shoot more,lol, plus he keeps improving on every aspect of his game as he is such a hard worker. I really think there's so much group think when it comes to NBA scouting. Picking this guy feels like a no brainer. Most of what you hear about Edey is that he's not a fit in the modern NBA. Well, his style worked and was preferred in the past b/c dumping it into a big man that can score is an efficient way of playing basketball also. Similar efficiency to high percentage three point shooting floor spacers. That so many teams now are trying to achieve the "modern NBA" three point floor spacing game means they're vulnerable down low to a 7'4" big man that can move and shoot like Edey. NBA teams haven't been building their roster to deal with an old school big man style of game, they've been building their rosters to deal with the modern style of NBA players. This guy is going to feast if he ends up in the right spot.

He is one of those guys that might not make teams say Wow the first 2-3 seasons, but by the time he is around season 4-5 he will be a 15-point, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks, 4 assists type of player. Think guys only played this game for a handful of years. Imagine that. A lot of work needs to be done, but hey, no way I let this guy slide down past 10-12 like some are saying, if I have the 10th pick and he is there I'm taking him without hesitation.
