29:12 - that pinging sound usually means the string is snagging somewhere. Often, the culprit is that the nut slot is a little too tight for the string gauge, or the nut slot has a burr. Depending on which one it is, either filing the slot a little wider, or carefully sanding a little through the slot will fix the issue. Since it is a gigging guitar, I would take it to an experienced luthier to get that looked at - it helps tuning stability. On a cheaper guitar, I would try to watch a few KZitem tutorials and try myself - it is good to learn these things.

Amazing video tomo! Reminds me of the time I spent with my jazz conductor. Those stew-Mac pads are indeed sandpaper! The numbers refer to the “grit” of the sandpaper, which is how rough it is. The higher the number, the smoother it is! It’s best practice to go from low grit to high grit!

I’ve been focusing on using softer pressure on my left hand, not to save the frets but that’s a good benefit, but so I can play more without cramping or pain in my hands. I’ve even put lighter gauge strings on my guitar which forces me to use less pressure because otherwise you can easily play out of tune when fretting to hard. Also that Collins seems nice, they’re close to me and I’d like to have them make a guitar for me someday.
