I really enjoy reading everyones comments on here when I have a minute... Thanks to all for sharing your opinions! As a consumer, if a low price is all that matters, there are a ton of cheap options out there. Heck, you could build your own electronic kit for less than anything on the market. I tend to lean toward quality, reliability, feel, & durability for my gigs. Thanks and congrats to Yamaha for such an amazing kit.

I had this for years now and number one reason I like this is durability of the pads..I had mesh kit and it only last like a year.. Switching to these actually saves money in the long run

I upgraded my Dtx 540k to additional pad tom and snare , also added a hi hat double pedal all by Yamaha , and added 2 more cymbals , so it's a huge 6 pieces and 5 cymbals . Cost more but a great drum set !

@bj998989 actually, the DTX950 has triple zone cymbals and pads, with dual zone high hat. The dm10 studio is with only dual zone pads and a triple zpne ride.

wow yamaha is really improving! If I had the money I would absolutely buy this kit! Roland is also great, but they haven't introduced something new the last few years (I think)

@toujames That isn't really new .. No, It's a great drumkit, but with these you can really see competition. With the DTXtreme III it was really Roland that won. (although they are a little bit pricy)

@toujames oh .. on thomann their cheaper than the TD-20, not even 5000 euro's. If a acoustic kit is too loud but you do have the money, this one is perfect!

@oroschwanz Mesh heads are just too bouncy.I was at sam ash yesterday playing a roland td 12 and it's harder to play simple snare rolls on them than yamaha brand.Yamaha has a more natural feel to me.

Can I plug Ddrum Triggers (used with acoustic drums) into the Yamaha DTX900 sound module or can I only connect electronic pads?

Is there any drum module that comes a little bit colse to Software Drum libraries? Electronic drums release are only evolving in hardware. They sound like shit compared to SD or BDF even in the lite versions.

played this kit it plays well except you can't do buzz rolls. It doesn't catch all of the nuances of a roland mesh kit.

People, use the Alesis USB I/O and connect to computer and you have a lot more quality for half the price. the thomann mesh sets are way better than this and they don`t even cost 1000 euros.

@bj998989 I know you posted this 3 month ago, but still .. wow 0.o that is comparing a bike with a Ferrari and say they are just as fast 0.o I had an Alesis, and it isn't that good. Believe me, this is worth the extra 3000.
