The Mclaren is just that one car that wasn't meant to be. You can see by Daniel jumping back in a Red Bull and Alpha Tauri, he's back to looking mega fast again. Zac has completely changed the culture of that McLaren team since taking over. I couldn't stand them or their general behavior, or trust them under Ron ... now they're team I'd most like to spend some time in. Zac's passion, enthusiasm, and open-minded attitude is so refreshing in between the backstabbing politics of F1 team bosses ... no wonder he wouldn't want to spend time away from the track with them.

As someone who has loved McLaren Zak Brown to me is the common denominator of the issues that face the team. He’s a crybaby and is always whining and trying to use the FIA as weapon against his rivals. He also speaks smoothly and says stuff like the buck stops with me and the end of the day I’m responsible but he cans others but remains in place. I seldom see this being brought up so wonder if it’s just me that sees this.

Not really enlightening. It'd be good to know specifics. "Form" is quite an interesting topic when it comes to sports... was it performance, was it a technical limitation? Was it culture? Why do an interview and then not share a single insight - except, "everyone is wrong and don't know"@@ericcartman4923
@LincolnRobinson
9 ай бұрын
That's enlightening of you. That's an outcome perspective, but specifics would be more interesting, than just "everyone else was wrong, and it was really hard". Was it form? Was it something technical? Clearly DR needed a break and has come back into some better form, so as head of McLaren, how do you create a culture that ensures the pressure doesn't have this impact on your drivers? It's not just "he was slower" - clearly he was slower (although not that easy a view, given you have to rule out how many technical issues he experienced over Lando - so it's not a simple black and white thing).@@elianioriofarrell
@elianioriofarrell
9 ай бұрын
@LincolnRobinson ricciardo was clearly slower in almost every way with or without technical issues. As for specifics, the specifics are that Ricciardo couldn't adapt and drive the McLaren. That's not McLarens fault, because they've had 3 other driver's who could drive that car in Norris, Piastri and Sainz. This is a business, if he's not bringing the team results and in turn is costing them constructors standing points then, they had to move on.
