JIMI was on FIRE almost everyone was in awe if him, and perhaps a but smitten. He was a once in a century talent. Only one in his wake who had the Hendrix feel was Stevie Ray and he dead, too.

This is essential listening. It's a shame this wonderfully recorded performance hasn't seen a proper release.

Totally agree. It’s one of my all time favorites. They were so tight on this one. The between songs banter is hilarious, and the Uncle Meat> King Kong really shows off their level of talent, ability to jam, and the intensity of this version.

I never knew I needed a Zappa time machine until I stumbled upon this bootleg! Now excuse me while I go back to 1969 and join the Mothers of Invention on tour.

Years ago I visited the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle and they have the Jimi Hendrix Collection which contains many Zappa / MOI albums. I think the feeling was likely mutual admiration. I think each had a different approach to their music, but potentially synergistic. Jimi Hendrix had more explosive notes while Frank was a bit more precise slow melodic, if less powerful. I am just a music fan so forgive me my opinion. I could listen to either for hours on end.
