One thing I'd never thought of was 2 decimated meshes. That's such a good idea I'll probably take forward for any characters and stuff going forward.

Yeah. it's a good idea to have a decimated version of final model (obviously save the original hi res). Decimating hi res meshes are also good for 3d print....and even lowering polycount for hi-res meshes for real-time interactive 3d renderers like Sketchfab and Marmoset. I also like using the "project" button in zbrush to project the higher poly mesh to a lower poly zremeshed mesh but preserve equivalent details within subdivided stages so I can modify in mesh in low poly as well as hi poly details.

Super useful feature for working with meshes outside of zbrush.
