Thank you so much for your detailed tutorials. I purchased a Zeiss Ikon 520/2 with a Compur Rapid 1/400 shutter for 10€, description by the shop was: defective, shutter stuck. Thanks to your videos I was able to repair that shutter with ease. I can't appreciate it enough, you are awesome 😊

Just want to say that I appreciate this. Im going to take apart my Ikoflex to check what's wrong with the shutter. Its completely stuck. I need a lens spanner though so Im waiting for one. Thanks for the videos!

I have a compur rapid in apart and I’m following this video as I work on it. My shutter is a pre war model from an Ikonta - and has quite a few differences. My flash socket is a press fit into to shell, not easily removed, and the flash contact is just a whisker of copper wire which the shutter blade actuator touches as it swings to the open position. I do not have the sprung contact which fouls your B settings lever.

What’s the difference between compur, compur rapid and synchro compur?

Compur was the base model, the Compur-Rapid was basically the Compur with a higher top speed, and the Synchro-Compur added flash synch for both bulb and electronic flash.
