Interesting they say its not in the wild. When my 2fa went off for Pay Pal and I was not trying to log in that made me start checking things. Only change for me was a new home desktop, AMD ZEN 3 Ryzen 7 5700G. I found it interesting the events coincided, I really wish they had their microcode ready I will just have to wait. That said I did go for the latest chipset drivers and prepping to do the BIOS as well.

The Spectre/Meltdown ruined my old computer's performance making it very unresponsive. It didn't affect the CPU performance at all, it slowed my I/O performance by 33%. Anything that ran on a PCI buss was slowed down... meaning the GPU, the NVMe drive, etc. If this ZEN BLEED does the same as Spectre/Meltdown, my Threadripper Pro will loose all it's performance advantages with it's fast PCIe Gen 4 lanes I now enjoy. Fortunately, I can upgrade the CPU to a Zen 3 model which I couldn't do with my old Intel rig which ended up on eBay.

Only 3 of the 5000 series CPUs are vulnerable. Only the 5300U, 5500U, and 5700U. In 7000 series, only 7020 APUs (e.g. Ryzen 3 7320U). Zen 2 is the only architecture affected, so if you have Zen 1 or Zen 3 (I have 5900x) then you don't have to worry at all.

I read on another site that the affected CPU series are: AMD Ryzen 3000, 4000, 5000, 7200, also Ryzen Pro 3000, 4000. Based on that information, the issue doesn't seem to affect the entire 7000 series - do you know if that is correct?

Zen 3 is not affected, so Desktop 5000 is not affected but Mobile 5000 that is Zen 2 is affected. My 5700X does not bleed. I'm upgrading to 7800X3D so i can test Zen4 this weekend.

@@MerhabaBenMert Yes all Matisse CPUs which is anything 5xxx. It affects all operating systems and the PoC source is freely available. It's a lot worse than Spectre/Meltdown because the attacker doesn't need to recombine data, it reads files or memory from any file/memory at User/System/Kernel level. People will exploit the shit out of this.

@@74GeeNo, only Zen 2 is affected, the 5600X is Zen 3. Matisse is 3000 series, but the bug affects other series that also have Zen 2 CPUs.
