It was fun to work on the vertical stabilizer! The dorsal fin was definitely a challenge to get just right. Overall, it was nice to work on another sub-assembly. With the tail section on, the plane would barely fit in the garage. The vertical and horizontal stabs will go back to the hangar in preparation for installing the engine.

Top Tip: When the hinge halves are separated, be VERY careful to not bump the hoops. When a few hoops get slightly twisted clockwise, and a few others get slightly twisted c-clockwise, on both halves, suddenly you can't get the pin back in. Ever. And it doesn't take much. You can try to tweak each hoop back into alignment, but at least for me, it never worked. I've tried sanding down the pin itself, but no luck. I'll probably have to drill out and replace my entire 8' elevator hinge because I wasn't careful.

Sounds like something that would happen to me 😄. Well, my elevator hinge pin is not coming out anytime soon, as I am thinking about just riveting the tips on now. The vertical stabilizer and rudder however, I will need to be careful! Thanks!
