Thank you everybody for watching, subscribing, and sharing your opinions. UPDATE Zero made a community post to his KZitem channel April 26th: "Thank you everyone for the beautiful messages and birthday wishes. Life has been insane. I’m posting something this week to update you guys. I’m sorry for concerning everyone, I feel really guilty and bad about it. Take care everyone." UPDATE 2 Gonzalo has done an interview with EE. It's a hard listen. Edit: due to community pressure, EE has removed the interview. You can still find reuploads however.

It's been hard for Zero. People like him or others who do inappropriate things when they're young don't inherently understand the consequences of their actions. Gamers (especially pros) naturally spend a ton of time practicing in front of a screen and at the same time, not gaining a lot of the social skills that are crucial for understanding healthy relationships. They don't get the attention of girls in high school. Suddenly or gradually, they gain a big reputation and following and they receive a lot of attention. A small % of that attention is from girls in that specific game's scene. And from the hardcore gamer's perspective, attention from a cute girl (likely younger) is an intoxicating feeling. Being older, there is this excitement in knowing that you can "show them things they haven't seen before", all while continuing the conversation and fueling this "talent/popularity crush" that keeps them interested. At age 19, most serious gamers don't know shit about themselves and romance, so they certainly don't know anything about how their actions affect the mental health of a younger person.. they're intentions are harmless - because they just want to continue to have a person interested in them. We can observe and critique "he's 19 he should've known better", but it isn't really fair. (Just because you or I would've known better at 19, doesn't mean that he would). The parents who raised him, the society and culture around vulnerability he grew up in determined how he made his choices. And I don't believe he made any of his choices with the knowledge and intent to harm anyone. A victim spoke up and said "I just wanted an apology". And this is where so many people are fucking up. They're so afraid of being put in the spotlight and cancelled that they lie, deny, and pretend they don't remember anything. The public has strong BS detectors. Obviously we would remember sending explicit messages to a person who showed interest in us. I'm over 30 and I remember all the interactions I had with every girl I've ever been interest in.. Here is the solution: Don't lie. Be vulnerable. Zero eventually came around after he realized he couldn't lie is his way out. Here are some important sentences to use when you've hurt others: "I did something inappropriate." (explain what you did) "I was younger and unaware of the consequence of my actions." (explain the consequence of your actions) "I feel ashamed of what I did" (explain why) "I don't have a healthy relationship with myself or know how to do this with others" (explain how you're going to do better, ie: I am seeing a therapist". "I wish I could go back and change the way I behaved. I've learned a lesson the hard way and I hope with time you can forgive my mistakes. I apologize to those I've hurt and to anyone who has looked up to me as a role model. I intend to continue growing and these are not mistakes that will ever be made by me again". Own up to your mistakes and acknowledge the pain you've caused. People will forgive you if you are authentic and can communicate your real feelings. This applies to every relationship in your life, whether it be friends, lovers, or long time partners. It's okay to make mistakes! At age 30 you will look back on your 20s and cringe at how stupid you were. It's not okay to pretend they don't exist when others are being hurt. Wishing Zero and everyone else struggling some good fortune.

After knowing a guy who pretended to be a underage girl to expose someone in another community. That Katie person's messages reminded me of that situation. Guy lost a lot after he was exposed, but he didn't have millions of people who seen it. It was only some guild members and a few other big guilds for the game and such. Happened 3 years ago now but most people have already forgotten about it. I wasn't a fan of this me too movement since it was more like, "me too twitter". I don't know any of those people who made any of those claims so for me to believe them in a social media platform seems a unethical. I rather the police play the role of underage girl and catch people. Most of those children went to twitter before their own parents. Which is what bothered me more. I'm not a fan of these anonymous profiles. The way all this was handled will forever bother me. And the people surprised at the attempted suicides? You could have seen this coming a mile away. Especially for Zero, he told his story often. All I think about is what I would do if I lost the best job of my life after coming from nothing and having no other skills. For me I would have a back up plan. But all Zero was focused on after making it big was losing weight. That's the last thing I remembered. I wrote this as a reply to someone else, but I feel like this just needs to be said in general. As much as I empathize with Katie over what she's been through, she's not innocent in this whole ordeal either. Not for what she's been through, absolutely not. But for how she handled it. "All I want is a genuine apology" Then why in the FUCK did she not just DM him asking for one? Because her family deemed it "wasn't safe", absolute fucking bullshit. Any remote OUNCE of danger was completely snuffed out at this point: Zero had a loving girlfriend (fiancé even, I think? I dunno though) taking away any incentive to even THINK about doing something like this again. He's in his mid 20's, having FAR outgrown the impulses that 19 year old him had. He took the past 6-7 years to grow and change from that point and had already done so long before she even put out her statement. He pretty much took all the right steps except for contacting the victim directly to apologize, and even then he probably didn't do it because he was ashamed of himself and was scared to hurt her further. And hell, even if he somehow HADN'T changed, she now had the mental fortitude and development to be able to tell the difference, and if he acted out of line it would only give HER more evidence. It was literally a WIN-WIN FOR HER. So why make this a public ordeal and not just DM him for the "closure" she so desperately wanted? Intended or not, she WILLINGLY took the most toxic and destructive route she could. She took a private affair that she herself ADMITTED to just wanting to keep between her and Zero, and BLASTED that shit out to the public, ruining his life in the process despite her saying that's not what she wanted to do. She could say sorry in that twitlonger until she's fucking blue in the face, it doesn't matter because she made the choice to do it anyway. And now that Zero has attempted suicide for all the bullshit that he's already changed and moved on from, everything that he worked his ASS off these past few years to atone for, I sure hope that she realizes that her statement was pretty much the main drive for all the harassment in the first place. Victim blaming? Maybe. But the negativity surrounding that term is absolutely ridiculous anyway, considering that there are indeed circumstances where blame DOES fall on the victim, and this is one of those times.

I understand why he attempted suicide. When he started chatting with a 14 year old and that ice cube thing happened he was at the peak of his carrier and must probably felt like he was untouchable. After he stopped going to tournaments and switched to streaming and youtube he most likely knew that if this comes out he would lose everything he built and tried to avoid it at all costs at the start of the bloodbath. When everything started to crumble he tried to shake it off but when there was no other way then directly answering the questions he must have known that his life was over. Think about it for a second. We already know that he has no education because of the bullying he went through in his childhood, his family is completely broken, he never learned anything else then gaming and after this he will never come back to the internet again and have any success there. After he lost his girlfriend what do you think is left? No education, job experience, love life, family, opportunity to come back and marked as a child predator. What he did was wrong and he had to own up to it but he lost everything. In that situation what should he do? I am surprised he waited this long to kill himself to be honest.

@@lawyermorty6735 you use the term "grooming" so loosely, becuz you hated what zero was before all this just becuz he found success, admit it that, and i might respond toto your response to this. 1. You dont magically become super mature and adult the moment you turn 18 and infallible of making any mistakes. The age gap is a milestone in life exp, especially in that age becuz you are expected to have a job and fend for yourself and have a house. 18 year olds are basically treated the same as 14 year olds by society, as far as expectations go. 4. Finally, i would hardly call someone you never met, or even saw photos of, someone you dont even know irl, capable of being groomed. The groomer has to be in a relationship with the one being groomed, which they were not. All they did was literally just talk online, and it got awkward, and they eventually stopped talking. This kind of thing happens all the time, Zero got flack for it cuz he became famous over smash, so some people hated him for that.

@@Mike-uy5ml just a thought but... Do you know how hard for himto admit to something that big? The dude clearly has been trying to grow as a person throughout the years, he was helping his single mother financially by himself, hes found someone who loves him, awkwardness and all. AND hes a immigrant. That takes guts. What he did was horrible and he should be paying the price for his actions but he shouldn't be told to kill himself and constantly be told to never come back to his only job. Not to mention the dude doesn't even have a stable education. I seriously believe he deserves a second chance. With all the odds stacked against him in the moment the accusations came out against him, can you really say you wouldn't defend yourself and deny everything at least once? It's crazy how we as a society want people who clearly aren't the same person they were years ago to just end their lives or just to ruin their lives to the point they have nothing. I just think it's inhumane. Lastly, I'm always seeing the comments like "I'm never going to forgive you for what you did" or "I forgive you ZeRo" and I'm just like, your input on the situation doesn't mean a damn thing. We as the people looking from the outside in do not have a say in forgiving or not forgiving ZeRo. That is up to the victim herself. And if she forgives or doesn't forgive him it shouldn't matter what we think, we all should just move on, whether that's us just accepting the fact the victim may have or may have not forgiven him and we go back to watching him and his videos or deleting him from our minds.

@@AquaBlueTea Look he didnt fess up when the allegations first happened. I asked for the bare minimum as far as accountability goes. Not saying that anyone else should follow what i do however it is important to set a standard for the content creators u follow. Zero was my hero i know his story. I neither said he should kill himself nor do i want him to do so but he doesn't have my pity. Again my perspective was solely as a viewer not as a victim. He used us to silence claims against him and to me that is worth boycotting his content. Do what u will and if he comes back good for him I'm not going back and i wouldn't try to stop him. Zero ruined his brand in my eyes and well thats it. There is nothing inhumane for having the negative effects of ur actions cause rifts in the people who support u.

Very well put video, however I would have also mentioned that Jisu also used lies in her claims, like the lies about Vanessa, yet everybody shrugged it off. Zero made mistakes, but Jisu just wants the man dead so she can steal his spotlight. You can't really be personally mad at a person just because he shared his anime waifu with you, I'm also sure she doesn't really care about Katie and just used her to her advantage. Jisu really gives me Zack vibes if you know what I mean.

I feel like in general with all the mass media we have these days as a society, we have forgotten to empathize with other people. The reason I say this is because we are constantly desensitized by this because we see tragedies all the time in the media. One mistake today will land you in a life of absolute hell. What he did was horrible, but not unforgivable. Also, if we don’t allow people to grow out away of their horrible actions in the past and keep on reminding them of said actions, what is the point for them to live their life. (This is all speculation) Also I could argue that ever since that was about 7-8 years ago and there wasn’t any new allegations since, it could mean he grew in some capacity.

I had been regularly watching ZeRo's content since 2019 to relax. 10AM EST meant 7:30pm IST in my place. A few vids away from allegations his videos were beginning to be a little cringe. When the allegations happened I was shocked. I basically found other hobbies and stuff to not let this petty stuff affect my life, since he was just another Internet person. I don't know him well. Neither of us on KZitem do. His past may be dark but he decided to be manipulative at the end. That is not right. It still gives an impression that he never matured as a person. Hence the backlash. And the suicide story at the end, may be sad but he brought it upon himself. Had he admitted in the first statement, things would have been different by now. But it's very sad to see him rise so high and fall so hard, that he decided to end himself. But he was probably blessed , that god gave him a second chance. I hope, despite all these problems of no proper education, no livelihood, no life partner he gets all the help he needs and is able to redeem himself as a better person in life. Should he return to the smash community? I don't know, probably not. I'll let the community weirdos be a better judge to that. In what way should he face the consequences? Can't say. I'll let the judicial system be a better judge to that. Also, about Hent@i. I don't understand the smash community condones showing explicit stuff to minors, but posting explicit stuff on stage builder/shared content is OK? Smash bros is a game where I am sure a majority of it's audience would be minors, who are oblivious to the competitive community's existence. And posting explicit content for then to see, is fine? I don't know about you all but something's not right here. Hence, the name "community weirdos". Should he deserve a second chance in life? Absolutely! No law exists in this earth, which is so unforgiving that you must die for all your sins. The judicial systems in Scandinavian countries, believe in change, respect, redemption and humanity, not punishment. Hence they are the most humane judicial system ever, and it's working very well in their favor with very little re-bound in criminal cases (less than 20%). Compared to a whopping 60+% rebound in criminal cases in the US. Which is a joke. I personally never wished him to die, nor does he deserve the excessive, unneeded death threats. That doesn't make us any better either. We as a society, are inhibiting him to face accountability and no law, or justice system allows us to do that in any way. It's basically committing murder. And I don't support that either. Anyone can change for the better. Accepting them to take accountability only makes us more humane. spreading hate and wishing death, will only make us cruel, unforgiving and most importantly WEAK. There's a saying: "A WEAK can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of STRONG" by Mahatma Gandhi No hard feelings but the US (and some other first-world countries, I'd rather not mention) because of it's unforgiving nature, is becoming weaker day-by-day. Whatever you may say to deny it, the past 2021 capitol riots, and the rise in hate-crimes against asians proves it big time. Again, "actions speak louder than words".
