Serious ! A shortage of about 7000 nurses, is a total failure of management of healthcare of the country. Those days this type of situation is totally covered up, try the best to sweep this mess under the carpet.
Beg to differ to yr views. Cmon already is yr 2024. Currently really wonder is there kpi system in the public sector. Adjust increment based on kpi set for each dept. Reward public servants that meets the requirements. Eg for nurses, wats avg waiting time by patients took to attend by a nurse to see a doctor, whether received no of complaints by patients on unprofessional nurses etc as measurement. If no kpi, every tom & harry whether got do the wrk or not everyone get the same increment, then why should anyone strive to improve? Pls make clear is not tat we disagree on the increment, it is whether the increment is being really allocated fairly to those tat really work hard with wrk efficiency, gd attitude & those tat are not.

There will be internal fights among the staff. Who decides how workload is measured and importance. Intensive care needs nurses ratio versus emergency versus normal wards are different. Normal wards can wait but not for the other two. Without increasing pay means the health ministry needs to employ overseas workers who are willing to take the pay. if there is an increased resignation of doctors and nurses, morale of the healthcare team will be affected
