Here is some basic training of the 直突き (Choku-zuki), the stationary straight thrust, of Karate. The training of the 'simple' waza/technique is imperative for all of the tsukiwaza; furthermore, it trains snap, relaxation, environmental awareness and correct kokyu (breathing).
This video also includes some elementary exercises to increase explosiveness in your linear thrusts. There are other more complex exercises, however and inevitably, the more basic exercises are ultimately superior.
This video falls short as it does not include the imperative aspects of impact training and partner work; nevertheless, this is a result of the current coronavirus pandemic.
