It is the Jow Gar version of Hung Gar's Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen (Tiger and Crane Fist)

Nicholas Dalton yes it does work for self defense the first weapon form has some stuff that dosent relate to fighting because it is paying respect to the general who created that weapon. but the hand form is very practical if you have a good teacher who has actual fight experience our style when fighting is very similar to mui thai, the forms are used to make your hand fast and your legs strong with low stances when fighting we don't drop into a low stance

Well yes, if you want to carry a big honking Kwan knife around with you. Anything that strengthens and integrates your body is good for self defense and that is one hell of a workout. His Kwan Dao appears to be old school( meaning it's NOT a broom stick with tin foil on top) and is probably quite heavy

@@markboudreau1410 This is probably a decent 5-6lbs. I think they used to use 50kg one during training in ancient times. These were definitely not used by the lowly grunts.
