Chinese fried doughnut also known as 油條 Yóutiáo is a very popular traditional Chinese breakfast item. Yóu tiáo is typically paired with 豆漿 soy milk. Great for dipping with soy milk or just eating it alone. This is another breakfast dish my grandparents always took me to eat when I visited Taiwan. No need to travel to Taiwan to eat it. Now you can make this at home! This recipe requires some overnight prep work since it requires the dough to rise in the refrigerator! Prepping overnight means the dough will be ready to fry immediately the following morning for breakfast! In this video I’ll teach you how to make You Tiao!
Ingredients:
All purpose flour 225g
Baking powder 1/2 tbsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
1 egg
Cold water 242g
Cooking oil 1/2 tbsp
