Not the same, Fan was 10-20 years old at that time. Maybe not in his prime but in the way to.

@@deathlocktf4057 The comparison doesn’t make sense because obviously they are not the same level. Zhang Ji Ke was a lot better and FZD was young and didn’t have his experience

Doesn't really matter because most Chinese shake-hand players play virtually the same. Actually, most European players try to play like this as well. This (in my opinion) has made the game predictable, two-dimensional, and boring.

One-dimensional, but good point. Hang in there. In the near future, you will see a new player who is neither a shakehander or penholder. And you'll definitely won't see him stomp his foot on the floor as he serves, or do that goofy underhanded forehand serve from the same corner of the table every time . . . or scream CHO-LE or talk loudly and violently to himself after each point, or throw his racket when he loses, or stick his racket down the front of his shorts after a win . . .
