Jocelyn Luciani studied Business Analytics at the University of San Francisco. She describes her community in One Word: Acceptance.
The graduating class of 2024 began their college experiences online, attending classes via Zoom. Many of the students who are graduating this summer did not get a chance to attend in person classes until their second year. At the University of San Francisco, where SF Fed President and CEO Mary Daly delivered the commencement address this year, we heard how students managed to find hope and community amidst uncertainty.
Zip Code Economies is a podcast from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Hosted by Mary C. Daly, the series uncovers stories of hope in unlikely places, and puts a human face on micro-economies within the nine Western states of the Federal Reserve’s Twelfth District.
About Us:
The San Francisco Fed is one of the 12 Reserve Banks in the Federal Reserve System. San Francisco is the headquarters of the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, which includes the nine western states-Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington-plus American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Branch offices are located in Los Angeles, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, with a cash processing center in Phoenix.
As part of the nation’s central bank, we inform monetary policy, regulate banks, administer certain consumer protection laws, and act as a financial partner to the U.S. government. We listen, learn, and reflect the communities we serve so we can make better decisions and policy to help our nation thrive.
