I actually just experimented with this build today. Flattening it out was one thing I didn't think of, but putting tension on the wire with a table vice and a drill and using a blow torch to heat up and stretch out the kinks seemed to save me a lot of time. All the coils I was able to wrap were near-perfect and the results were phenomenal. I'm not sure how I'll go back to a normal build from here.

Did this build like 3-4 weeks ago, big up to twisted messes followed his instructions to the t and created my best coil I've ever used. It does take sometime to ramp up but once its warm... look out it clouds my room like nothing. I used 26 gauge kanthal and twisted my wires like twisted instructed came up to a 0.1 ohm in dual 5 wrap zipper mode in my 30mm plume veil on a 26650 stingray x clone. Out of all of my RDA builds this is the one I continually come back to for the flavor and vape. *****Remember to CLEAN YOUR WIRES after flattening them because you have a lot of debris left on them and you don't want to inhale that. Results in a cool tasty cloudy vapor that is second to none.

I have a zipper installed atm. It rocks the flavor. What you have to do tho is clean the coil and replace the cotton more often because the coil has so much mass that it tends to build up some gunk and the cotton will burn eventually. Don't be shy, replace your cotton whenever you change batteries and keep that coil clean. Great flavor here. Amen. Can you say Herringbone? :) Long-Ass hits and a piece of fruit to boot :)

You focus a lot on keeping up with which way you're twisting which wire, and you can just do the same thing twice and flip one over. If one end of anything is twisted one way, if you look at the other end of it, it's twisted the opposite way. Like reading a watch. If you look at the face, the hands spin clockwise. If you look at the back of the watch, they're spinning counter clockwise. You never even had to change which way your drill was spinning! Edit: holy crap those post holes are huge.

This is an awesome video, as all of yours that I have seen. I have a question in regards to a 6v lantern battery. I got a good deal on an alkaline one, and made a small coil to vape with a tube. It did work with a small paper clip, however, is there a way to do such a thing safely? I have a multi-meter to test ohm resistance and torched the wire and soaked it in baking-soda water to reduce the resistance. Do you have any recommendations for such notions? I will stick with my pv until I get some advice from somewhere. I was unable to find a fun video with someone with a 6v lantern battery vaping with a coil. It is possible to do, just not very efficient. Thank you for any legitimate recommendations on copper-wire gauge, wire preparation procedures, mulit-meter use. I am a noob -trying to play it safe until I attain a larger vaporizer so I can build coils for single, longer lasting vapes. So far, I found it fun to vape e-juice off of a skillet on a stove-top. Only a few puffs and no more, so long as the e-juice contains 'any' mg of nicotine. I like to mix veg. glycerin 50% with flavored e-juice. Smells pleasant and is fun. :) Thank you for your advice...

It looked complicated at first glance. But watching this video I realized that this is a simple build. What if you took those two strands and wrapped a single strand of wire around them so that they stay in place.
If you soin one clockwise and the other counterclockwise....if you flip one of them upside down woukdnt they be twisted the sane way? Meaning cant you do them both clockwise and just flip one over when they're done?

Back in college, my friends and I used a sploof for other kinds of vapor. It's just a gatorade bottle with the bottom cut out and filled with layers of dryer sheets. Google actually returns the kind of sploof I'm talking about in its top results for the word. I never thought about using a sploof before, since I never used it with cigs. Okay I'm kinda new to vaping with mods. So this might be a stupid question, but can I run this zipper build in dual coil mode or will the Ohm's be too low. I'm using the Dark horse RDA and a mechanical magneto mod, and I have two different types of batteries, the Samsung 25R and the LG HE2. I've only done one other coil build and it was on a Poseidon RDA and it was a vertical quad coil build running at .11 Ohm's with my copper heat sink and .12 Ohm's just normal. The battery's seemed to handle that fine. My last question was how long were his 28 gauge Kanthal wire? I'm pretty sure he didn't see the length in the video. Or maybe I missed it.....
@bobbymaas

Whenever you build a dual coil, the resistance is going to be halved. I ran a dual zipper build exactly like the one he showed (except two of them lol) the resistance came to .14 ohms. The safety of vaping all comes from how many amps your battery can take. I would say for your sake check the continuous discharge rating of your battery, and also invest in an ohm reader made for RDAs. vape safe my friend

bobbymaas thank you! I built one last night mine came out to about .34 . I didn't quite have enough to build a 6 wrap zipper coil, only a 4. So I'll try another one tonight. Does your coil take a long time to ramp up?

Brandon Watkins almost no time at all because I had it on an ipv3 at 50 watts, but it took a second to ramp up on my mechanical

Whats the OHM on that coil? And whats with that RDA? I prefer to have to positive and two negative personally. (I'm using a Mason 30mm on Sigelei 213)

Curious, but Rip you should maybe try using a piece of low-grit alum-oxide sand paper and just pinch it over the wire with fingers to smooth it out? Probably be easier and more delicate than your pliers. Just an idea.

You could potentially damage them trying to pinch an uneven surface like that but sure you could use them. Still wouldn't be and simple as the paper. Not to mention it's only like 10cents. lol

Instead of twisting clockwise and counterclockwise you can use two clockwise wires in different directions? o.O
