Mike, Thanks so much for showing us. When I was a young boy in the 60's my Sunday School teacher told us he had flown a P-38 Lightning in WW 2. The boys in his class all wanted to know more, but he just said "it was nothing" 'It was just what he had to do." He didn't think it was all that special (!) Thanks for all the hard work. That is amazing.

@@@MikeJM-Fly-RC Is this plane still together? and if so how many flights are on her now. As most of these planes don't seem to last very long? Also I'm very interested in the compete build package. Mostly the servos used for each component and if you made the motors counter- rotating? Love your plane! but would have liked to have seen more flight footage of her though. Some of the glue-ups looked a bit messy but the end result is superbly perfect. It looks great down to every detail. Vary nicely done. The P-38 is definitely my favorite WW2 aircraft for it's versatility as a fighter and ground attack. I'd love to have this even as a model, let alone RC.

How much calendar time did it take from plans to first flight. And what was the budget and did you MEET your budget?Beautiful planning and execution of a very complex and precise project. Rated four oh!
@MikeJM-Fly-RC
6 жыл бұрын
I started in Dec 2015 redrawing plans in AutoCad and building my CNC router. I worked on it anywhere from 4 to 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I really didn't have a budget, with that said I just tried to keep the cost reasonable. Eventually I just said here is my credit card, send me the best. However, I made a HUGE mistake using Robart electric retracts which definitely weren't the best and could have gone with Sierra retracts with money saved.
