Main Idea: God blesses those who have faith
Abraham was a normal person who put his faith in an extraordinary God. Faith is belief in God’s promises. God wants us to be like Abraham and trust his word, even when it is hard to believe.

Discussion Questions (from simple to complex):
1. What did God promise Abraham?
That his family would become a great nation, and that through them all the people of the world would be blessed (Gen 12:3)
2. Why did Abraham and Sarah find it hard to believe God’s promise?
They were very old and thought they could not have children. Also, God took a long time to give them a son.
3. Why did God ask Abraham to sacrifice Isaac?
He wanted to test if Abraham trusted him to fulfill his promise to make him a great nation, even if it didn’t make sense to Abraham.
4. Why did God provide a ram for Abraham to sacrifice?
God did not want Abraham to sacrifice his son. Instead, he wanted Abraham to worship him and trust that he would provide the sacrifice needed.
