I had some of the smaller zoids as a child. I won‘t fortget them for the rest of my life. Loveable toys. Great memories. Thank you for the awesome content 🙂👍🏻

Used to have loads of these in the 80s. The wind up Zoids were never that great at moving. The Power Zoids was where it was at however only ever got one of those for Birthdays and Christmas's. Zoid Zilla was the best Xmas present as a child. Looking back, their movement is quite clunky.

Nice collection. I've been collecting these for a while myself. The thing I love about these toys is the brilliant engineering behind each zoid. Zoids started in Japan in 1982 and were called Mechabonica. They made three, Garius, Glidoler and Elephantus which were not popular at first. The line was sold to America and Europe where they were renamed Zoids, short for Zoic Android, zoic meaning animal like. Tomy, the Japanese toy company got the idea of a back story from Transformers which came out in 1984. Autobots vs Deceptocons. So, the back story of the Helenic Republic and the Zenebus Empire, inspired by Star Wars was created. In Europe they simply called the zoids the Red mutants and the Blue guardians and colour coded them blue and red. So, with a little advertising in comics, the story of the red zoids vs the blue zoids was created as they battle each other in their war machines, piloted by Android pilots. To me, these toys remain some of the best toys in history. Take the simple wind up motor apart, and you have the complexity of a pocket watch. They have a level of antiquity and fascination that has stayed with me all these years. Ha, enjoy.

A Zoids collector after my own heart. Ebay is a great place to start. I used to get Zoids for birthdays and Christmases as a child in the 90s. I am now rebuilding and amassing my collection.

I remember having one of these shaped as a robot TRex with a wind up motor when I was in the 1''st grade. Would have been for Christmas 1981.

Seem to recall the way you battled was walking them into each other until they fell over.

Tyrannozoid, bud,I was always gutted as a child that unlike it's namesake,it was weedy and spindly, still cool though!,the other "Spiderzoid" is a "Scorpozoid" with its tail and claws missing.

Zoidzilla really was the best of them all. I also hat the large Gorilla (don’t know its name) which had really nice motorized movement and this biiiig gun. Awesome toys!

I had a couple in the 80's and loved assembling them. Spider Zoid I definitely had plus a large Brontosaurus type. I only just discovered the anime and was also unaware of the power Zoids. Love Slither and I have been hankering for a few Zoids back in my life for years. Starting now with Spider Zoid I think.

Nice.. I still have my 80’s Zoid collection which I dug out my parents loft a few years ago and rebuilt and cleaned everything up and they still look great, takes me back to the time I used to read the comics and always thought the marvel comics had a better story than the anime that came out in the 90’s & 00’s… I’ve posted a video of mine on my channel if anyone wants to see some of the other ones from this era.
