The new Sony ECMLV1 Lav Microphone on Amazon: amzn.to/48tgN56
Testing Zoom H1 with Sony ECM-CS3 lav mic, and Zoom H1 recording voice, classical/electric guitars. Conclusions:
1) Sony lav mic works great only with an external audio recorder or plugged into a camera. Don't count on your smartphone.
2) Don't buy the ZOOM if you need to record instruments. In my opinion the stereo is useless in a mix and will make you work harder to find the sweet spot (because each mic gets different levels). Go with some professional condenser mic and an external audio interface.
3) If you still want to record acoustic/classical guitar - positioning the ZOOM at the 12th fret gave me the optimal result. In front of the sound hole the ZOOM can't handle the bass notes.
If you have any more tips - please comment! It will surely help someone in the future.
