From your accent I figured you're not a Zoroastrian, but a Scholar interested in our Ancient religion. While I was amused to hear you recite some of it (the familiar parts) that I have never heard recited in a Western tongue, I must commend you on the effort and attempt to get it right. In fact, you have pronounced much of it, better than most of us Zoroastrians who simply rattle the prayers in haste. Thank You Joseph Peterson, for your explanation of how / why this would be a prayer of "healing"..... Basically it is a prayer for protection against evil. USHTA-TE!!

Sounds so similar to sankrt. Putra =children, dushkriti =wrongdoer, gao =cow all these are same in sanskrt and other North Indian languages

It is, the Avestan language and Sanskrit are both Indo-Iranic languages that broke off of a proto-Indo-Iranic root. Thus they are related and very similar.
@jamshidatashgirgilzai9413

All those ancient words has modern equivalents. • Putra- pur (suffix word for son) or formal word pesar. •dushkriti- dush mean bad (in dushman, dushvar, dushnam) and kriti means the agent who 'does or works' . Kriti is kard and its amcient root is 'kri' meaning to do. ° gao means cow in both persian and sanskrit.

I have so many questions about Zoroastrianism What are languages belonging to the original language of Sacred Books of Zoroastrianism that are written What was national identity of the founder of Zoroastrianism ? What are core teachings of Zoroastrianism ? What are the Catechism of Zoroastrianism ? Does Zoroastrianism have Theology ?

Great prayer and great hard work by mr Joseph, language looks more like Sanskrit or Hindi, I have a question for Parsi people, can anyone answer me , what was the name of water in old Persian, I am an linguistic, I have studied many languages, I understand that after the conquest of KHALIFA OMAR on Iran , the Persian were prosecuted and forcibly converted to Islam and they ban their PARI language and give them Arabic alphabet, so the one of name of water in Sanskrit is APA , do the the name of water in Parisian is AB , or APA is it changed due to Arabic alphabet, because their is no P in Arabic alphabet, that is why PARI becomes FARSI , and PAPA becomes BABA ,

I m Not a Parsi. But an Afghan. I speak Persian. In old persian water is Apa. Today we call water as Aw/Ab (Farsi) and Oba (pashto). Both Pashto and Persian are modern languages and official languages of Afghanistan.

As far as I know, it is only titled "Videvdad fargard 21" in the original manuscripts. The Denkard refers to it as "the nirang through which the violence of the fiend was minimized at the original creation; and the great powerfulness of the Airyaman supplication, the Ahunwar, and other Gathic Avesta, for restraining the demons from destroying the world of righteousness."

Yes, although one of the components, "A Airyema Ishyo" is also often used as a stand-alone prayer.

'nemese te gao spenta'? That sounds like 'namaste gau' or something in Sanskrit which also means the same -homage to you, holy cow. So cow is holy in Zoroastrianism as well? But Iranians now eat beef day and night after Arab conquest.

Avestan and Sanskrit are very close, and sometimes referred to as sister languages. My professor (Bill Malandra) required Sanskrit proficiency before taking his Avesta classes.

My friend today's Iranians who live in Iran are not Zoroastrians they are mostly Muslim, very few Zoroastrians are left in Iran. Zoroastrians living in Iran do not eat beef, and they still have kept their culture in tact.

@Рахмат Дяннах Лонте well in Vedic culture, deva are worshipped , but GOD is called BRAHM, which means the universal vibrating energy called CHETNA , or consciousness. Most of the people in the world don’t know that the ultimate philosophy of Hinduism is the enlightenment about the BRAHM, the ultimate God , many words like YAHJNA are like Sanskrit, and most of Abrahamic religion is drives from Zoroastrian books , even in TOHRA of Jews , BARUKH ATA ADNOI “ is completely similar to Sanskrit, BARUKH in Sanskrit is BADRANI ‘ or BADNA and ATA is Sanskrit TE , and ADNOI is ADINAM of GOD , same is farsi BANDA , NAMA , TU etc are Persian word, even the jew name for GOD is YAHWA , which is very similar to YAYTA in Sanskrit and Persian, the Muslim prayer starts with “ BISMILLAH REHMAN RAHIM “ is exactly “ BENAME KHUDA BAND “ in Zoroastrian books even the story of MOHHAMAD meeting GEBRIAL is very similar of ZARATUSHTA meeting FRISHTA , Arab had destroyed Persian culture and religion, I use to work in Baghdad, most of people in Baghdad looks like Persian people, and they still use many Persian word just like “ BALI BALI “ BASS , RAFIK etc , even the very name of BAGHDAD is Persian “ BAGH ( GARDEN ) + DAD ( God given ) is Persian word , Arab had destroyed Persian language, even Persian become FARSI because Arabic does not have letter P CH JHA SA etc , All the ayatollah with black turban in IRAN are Arab and fooling Persian people, all ABRAHAMIC religion are copy of Zoroastrianism, even the ABRAHAM is derived from Sanskrit word ABIBRAHAM which means “ TOWARD BRAHM “ or TO BRAHM the universal reality , Now I am living in New York their are lots of jew here , I always challenged them that you are Indian Brahman, moved from india longtime ago , they mostly confess it , because all their rituals are similar to Hinduism, even I ask them what is the meaning of JAHUD , it a Sanskrit word YUJ , just like Arab word , YAHID is YUJ and JIHAD is JUDH or YANG in farsi , even the word ALLAH is AL + ELA , THE + ELA , ELA in Sanskrit is mother and it is goddess in ARABIC it not male but female , and EL is also god in Hebrew, Jews are Indian just like JIPSY but the only difference the JIPSY were working class people and Jews were BRAHMAN most probably excommunicated by other tribes of Brahman , by the way BRAHMAN means in Sanskrit that who knows the ultimate reality BRAHM .

I adopted the Sudre and Kusti when I was fifteen, and started practicing the kusti ritual and observing other Zoroastrian customs at that time. It was not until years later that I met any other Zoroastrians, and consequently my Navjote was not performed until 1983. It was officiated by 2 Irani mobeds, and 2 Parsi mobeds.
