That testing machine is pretty awesome. I've never seen anything like that before.

Very nice review. Loved the detailed inspection and little clips to add a touch of humor, thank you!

I’ve got this meter for a couple of days and sure it has some quirks (built to a price of course) but to be honest I think this is a very nice and perfectly usable meter and for the price you really can’t go wrong with ir.

Thomas Edison would be angry when the multimeter went red alert at 100 DC.

100 DC is probably "fine", whereas 100 AC is not.

They got the sticker warning correct, but then implemented it the wrong way around in the software!!! I expect the original intention would have been to have the other way around. Would be a good thing to have in the first firmware update.

TKS, now I know that mine is quite ok. I will shorten the battery spring with cutters too. * Subscribed

Nice comprehensive review. Possibly I missed it, but I like to know the open circuit voltage multimeters put out for the diode test. I have a Keysight bench meter that puts out over 9 volts for the diode test which is really useful but my other digital meters put out between 2 and 4 volts so not suitable for testing some LEDs.

Yes sometimes I remember to check that, this time I didn’t.

Volt meter should go red at 9V..... those little suckers hurt my tongue! 😊

Now I’m wondering how you check the voltage of a car battery…terminals are too far apart for that to work.

Looks like a nice little meter. You manual change the range quite a bit. Must have missed the Auto-range feature?

Yeah it is there but turns off if you do certain things.

The analog needle reading between 0-25 makes no sense. Does it have relation to the actual reeading?

Agree. I'd prefer a little trend plot here.

Just occurred to me. Have you got a good approach for measuring a DMM burden voltage when testing current measurements?
@TheDefpom

I could do something to measure it, but it is already a massive video, so big I had to split it into 2 parts already. You could measure the shunt resistances with another meter, or measure the voltage across the input terminals whilst putting a known current through it.

Probably ok for testing power supply noise and some signal monitoring, wouldn’t use it on high voltage though, always best to stick to trusted equipment with suitable CAT rating.

Thanks for the review. I'm still not sure they can work out all the firmware bugs.
