Cheers mate, I've read an article in a magazine called "Performance Bikes" (april 2013). There is this guy Andy Huggett who did this conversion to a ZX7R (P). I think it works better/easier on a P model with less modifications to the frame, but I'm not sure. I haven't seen a conversion like I've done to the ZXR though. And there is a guy called Milos who did also the conversion with a P model. www.zxforums.com/threads/my-zx7rx-aka-your-bike-is-beautiful-milos-id-like-to-see-more-pictures-of-it.140498/

Sorry for my late reaction. I'm not a real youtuber😉 It's not in this video but i swapped the front forks also for the ZX10R and everything from the 10 is so much lighter built than the original '93 stuff of the 750. I think the engine itself is about 10kg's lighter. The front end should be a couple of kg's. I've fitted 310mm full floating Galfer brake discs which alone saves 1 kilogram. Front calipers of a Yamaha R1 are lighter than the "original" 6 pot Tokico's. Rear swingarm is from a ZX10R and saves serious weight.
@kene540

@@bjornmunninghoff But how did you manage to squeese in a ZX10R engine, it would definitely be worth the Nobelprize! There´s a lot of work you've put into that bike, also a lot of knowledge. Hi, can you provide any details on the mounting of the zx10 engine?
@bjornmunninghoff
5 жыл бұрын
Some details? Hmmmm.....there are so many changes. Most radical modifications are cutting and welding the frame. You need to cut some aluminum off the righthandside on the inside tube of the frame. You need to reinforce that part of the frame and weld a modified piece of aluminum on that spot. Than you have to make 5 new brackets to bold the engine on. All the welding is done by Nico Bakker, a famous Dutch framebuilder. Make sure the front sprocket lines up with your rear sprocket. Once the engine is back in the bike you can start building the bike up again. First you put the wiring loom back in and than the injectionrail. An inline fuelpump and fuel pressure regulator are needed to make it all work. That's about the engine swap in a nutshell.
