Abdul Basit hails from a family that immigrated from the Golan and settled in the Bayada neighborhood of Homs, where he was born on January 1, 1992.Abdul Basit was educated in Homs; Before he discovered his skill in goalkeeping, he joined the defense of the Al-Karama Club goal, which enabled him to reach the guard of the Syrian youth team, and he was close to joining the goalkeeper of the first team before the revolution in 2011, in which he participated by participating in the weekly protests that were held in Homs to demand Bashar al-Assad to leave. Abdul Basit’s fame and popularity increased after he worked on composing a number of songs and chants that he used to perform among the crowds in Homs, on top of which was the song “Jannah, Jannah, Jannah, Oh Our Homeland” to be nicknamed “Bulbul the Revolution and its vocalist.”
