I don't particularly like this author because he incorporates an anti-Nato political dimension into his novels. For example in these books NATO is responsible for sending atomic bombs in Russia and on civilians. Is the shadow of Pekin behind this writer?

Normally I wouldn't find the motivation to just sit there and read the subtitles of a 24 minute long video but the interviewers' nice, interesting questions and Liu Cixin's way of talking (even though I don't speak a word of Mandarin) and what he is saying had me just sit there and in what feels like no time at all the whole video was over. :D The Three body series is my favourite science fiction series even though I only just read it (or even heard about it for the first time), one of the few books that actually get me thinking about the future, the fate of humanity and science. I am doing my Master's degree in physics at the moment and his motivational words, unlike most other "inspirational speeches from other people" actually motivated me and made me feel a bit more optimistic about the future and what I am doing.

Three body may seem too pessimistic, but it is rather realistic, one universe ends and the next begins even a better 10dimensional one perhaps

Interesante este escritor, me gusta su mente abierta y no ve la ciencia ficción como simplemente eso, sino como un anticipo de la realidad. Muy buenos libros

I AM SO GLAD TO SEE HIM SAY "JUST WRITE". I was soooooo sick of teachers critiquing my writing by saying "but whats the underlying message you are trying to teach the reader?" NOTHING, its a human story from which many messages can be found. I hate the idea of planning every message and nuance of a story beforehand and having to fight the story and characters the whole time to conform to this predetermined idea. I just want to tell a cool, interesting story, with believable, realistic, characters that are put in hard situations we all relate to. It's more about the readers experiences than the writers, you just need to hope that the reader identifies with your characters. And the best way to do that is let your character live, don't try to corral them into predetermined outcomes. It may work sometimes, but many times when I'm writing, the characters do something I never planned, it just happens in the moment when the spark of the idea comes and you follow it. And I always love hearing peoples thoughts on it after, them pulling it apart to find there own meaning that reflects their life. And its almost always something I never thought of. Thats the beauty of good characters, it can reflect on people differently, and show them parts of their own life they struggle with.

Agreed on the first part. A message or lesson on a social issue would be nice for a story, but the book being actually a good book is the number 1 priority.

I really wish I didn't stop learning Chinese. I speak Chinese fluently but can read and understand only about 80% of Chinese in his books. I had to read the English translation instead, which really makes me regret choosing to stop learning Chinese at fifteen.

Even you know 50% of them, just like me in my age of 12-13 when I was reading the some Chinese novels in complicated characters which made me just guessing a lot and actually I learnt a lot new characters from the story and the sentences before and after. I’d try to read the book in Chinese and you’d pick up them quickly because you’d have great interests on it. You will learn a lot of more characters and understand Chinese subconsciously.

Regarding whether AI will take away people’s jobs, Cixin Liu answered that we may need to break the cornerstone of the modern economy: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat". I was really shocked. I haven't heard such a novel idea for a long time. I seem to see his other novel.
