Well, Mr. Spock, we humans don't usually ignore our appendix if it ruptures and we know it has ruptured.

Interesting. I remember various episodes where Uhura or Rand or whatever other women would wear the black utility belt with their uniform dresses on landing party duty - but I don't recall ever seeing in a bridge scene like this.

I love how the writers always made up some nonsense biological cop-out reason why Spock was always immune to something that would seriously hurt or kill us "mere" humans. Despite Spock looking all-human, except for the pointed ears. And being half-human.

Ok this show is just gold. Talk about an onion it just has layers on layers. I walked home from middle school 1977 to catch TOS at 1600 to watch re-runs. Now I'm 61 and still nuances emerge. Then I found out what a bad-ass Gene Roddenberry was in WW2 and it makes it that much better. Gene as well as all of our veterans thank you for fighting for our once great country! Can't wait for the time machine to become fully operational because then im gone.

So Vulcans get an inner eyelid that allows them to look directly at their sun with no ill effect, and humans get...an appendix.

Curious. Why would Capt. Kirk tell Spock to lay in a course for Starbase? Shouldn't that be the navigators job?

OK so why would the captain ask the science officer to 'lay in a course to starbase 10' wouldn't that be an order for the helmsman or navigator

Always tried to be like Spock. I failed of course. Even as a kid I thought how great it'd be to be in control of your emotions and not get bashed against the rocks by the world.

So Vulcans are much stronger, smarter and can hear better than humans. Clearly, if they ever get their emotion-logic balance worked out? They will dominate Starfleet - instead of us Humans. ☮

So McCoy, genuinely angered, is prodding Spock over Spock's apparent lack of concern for Kirk, and Spock, in return, sardonically thanks McCoy for calling him "cold-blooded." 😁 That was a great exchange. And the missing line at the end is McCoy's startled "That's impossible!"

There will never be another trio of characters like Capt. Kirk, Mr. Spock & Dr. McCoy; their relationship was the cornerstone of STAR TREK: The Original Series and as far as I'm concerned the foundation of the "true" Star Trek Canon.
