I'm from Uzbekistan and i'm 16 years old. I want to study like that. In my country we study only 5 hours a day(08.30~13.25). Even though schools starts at 8.30, there are so many students who can't make it in time and always late. I hate that. Our education system is broken, i think. Everything is messed up in our country. I can't even study properly. Because i'm a girl, my mom never let me study, she thinks i'm girl so i need to learn housework, do chores and how to cook(ugh, i hate this kind of things). There are lot's of things i want to learn, but because of that shitty education system, i can't learn.....In comments a lot's of people saying " good morning mom and dad, good night mom and dad", but what's so good about having conversation with parents(they don't understand you, don't let you choose what you want, can't give you enough time or support😢). In the end i want to say that whoever studies this kind of school, god blessed you🥹🥲

I like the evening study time. It can be beneficial for students who are being abused at home and thus cannot focus in a safe space. This needs to be everywhere.

Honestly I would love to be in this kind of school: I love everything being planned and scheduled and I love how they have time for everything in a school day like having naps and also studying. Thank you for showing us what a normal school day looks for you ❤
When I moved back to Taiwan after living in the US for 11 years, my school life here was similar to what is shown in this vid. Wasn't used to the strictness of bossy east Asian teachers, being stuck in a classroom for 10 hours to learn, study, take tests every single day, and having to tidy up the classroom before class begins. It was hell for me, wouldn't want to return to those years...

The Martial arts routine was kinda weird. I like the mid-day nap though. Also, I see that American schools aren't the only ones giving out useless work. Poetry memorisation is just bizarre. It's a product of someone's creativity, not just some fact to be remembered.

That is insane! 10 periods and 3 hr study hall - 14.5hrs at school per day is just not necessary. I do agree with being open for study to ensure equal opportunity and also with students cleaning the school. These things should happen at western schools

I'm in india our school is basically 7am-3pm I remember my house was far from the school so I used to go by school bus I was so screwed that the bus used to take me first around 5:45am and used to leave me at last around 4:00-4:30 pm. I was so frustrated with the schedule as i was also introverted and did not like school very much. Looking at the Chinese system i think it wasn't that bad

as a chinese i also want you to know the following so you can understand better. chinese college application system is probably the only way a normal person can climb to a higher class in a country with this much population. thats why we study this hard. the gap between rich and poor is big, but money can't buy 高考(chinese sat) grades. chinese college application system is only about scores. no matter your family background, as long as you work hard enough, a kid from the poorest family can go to the same school as the richest man's son. i dont think the same thing can be said to america's college application system. ap needs money, sat needs money, clubs needs money... 高考dont need money. all of these 'torture' like school life is just so that students who wants to study can get the education they need. so many students that comes from the poorest family in the smallest villages can go to the best college in china because of this system. so yea, it has lots of problems, but its what works best for china now.
So basically they LIVE in school but have no LIFE. Wow doesn’t make much sense as how the school kids have can still carry on the school day even after a nap.

I now understand the lie flat phenomenon sweeping china. After studying so hard through school and college, without any social life or extracurricular life experience, to find that there are no jobs available or that the competition for jobs is immense, must be soul crushing. Hence the " **** it all - do nothing" attitude!!

My high school is in China too,and I am very happy to be over that god damn stage.Every day 5:30get up ,22:00 class over. In addition to morning reading and recess exercise, there are about 12 classes a day, each class is 45 minutes. Every month the school will have a day and a half off, only a few hours of activity every weekend and the rest of the time is weekly exams. This excruciating pattern does not actually make students more competitive in college after high school, because it is extremely bad for students' creative thinking and personality development.😅

True to form. Many public schools have lunch breaks anywhere between 2.5-3.5 hours. So classes end at noon and resume around 330pm. This means the kids eat and sleep mostly during that time. I never understood the long break as it pushes the end time back a great deal. Many kids head home around 7pm as well. Depends on the city and province. I taught at a Chinese public school for two years. Then did 4 years at a kindergarten with a mix of training centers, university lectures before finally ending up at a Chinese international school. I have seen every single aspect of the education system inside and out.
