Indian South African. Being supported by Dutch South Africans. Badly behaved out of their country and they abuse South Africans that left the pool of vipers they represent. Trying to keep themselves relevant.

Question. If you previously fired the pots, then why fire them for a second time in the pit?

Thank you for such a detailed video! The only thing I is missing here is the setup of a kiln. Can you please recommend which brands and what kind of kilns one should purchase as a beginner. Also some references from where i can buy kilns in india?

thank you for your video! You explained everything in simple steps and easy going :) one question: the collection of clay in the small buckets (dry, ready, slurry) must be according to the type of clay, stoneware, terracotta, etc, right?

Hello! Most welcome :) so glad it helped you. Yes, one set of buckets for one type of clay. If you’re using more than one type, get another set.

Adding on from the previous reply - Even if you have the same type of clay from different suppliers, make sure you segregate them.

A kiln??
@slowpottery
Жыл бұрын
Hey Emily, a kiln would be great if you can afford to. This setup is for absolute beginners who are just getting into pottery. I suggest practising wheel throwing and handbuiling, recycling your clay for a few months to a year maybe and then investing in a kiln. If you want to glaze and fire, one can find pottery studios in the city and fire it with them. At the same time, if buying a kiln is feasible, nothing like it :) Hope this helps!

Do you also have a kiln? How do you fire? Very very relaxing video btw

Hi medha, Yes this pot was fired later in a gas kiln. We did it after a few months so it wasn't documented.

You also need a filter it’s so important and don’t buy a wheel right away start with Handbuilding first you can make a lot of beautiful pieces that way

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Just seeing your message now. If you’re talking about the wedding table with granite, then no, it can’t be granite. It has to be unpolished stone or wood.

if you're referring to a kiln? then yes. none required at home. you can reach out to local studios or classrooms as many offer shelf space for "rent" to fire your work. price is usually based off width and height

I went to their web site and search finds no buckets yet shows a picture of the bucket (labeled 'bucket') for ~$8. Click on the bucket and get a "Page Not Found" error. :-) Further search looks like it's not available in the US.
