It is one of the best things we have done to date, keeps them out the way, clean and makes more room in the cab. As for weight, she is heavy but that doesn't bother us too much as we still get some good fuel eco

@eroz493
2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I appreciate it! Turbo kit is a good starter kit, it’s done me well and is more then enough to get up and overtake. I suggest getting your 80 compression tested first, along with getting the big end bearings checked (sump has to come off for oil return if your bung is welded anyway) and a few other checks. I’m a diesel mechanic so happy to run you through if you want to message our Instagram - 4x4au 👍🏻

Do you think there's a need to run an aftermarket intercooler if you add a turbo kit to a 1hz?
@eroz493
3 жыл бұрын
we don't run one on ours, however an aftermarket intercooler is always a great option for any 4wd. There aren't any cons to running one and will definitely help your temps stay on the cooler side. We didn't fit one at the time due to not having the time to fit being our only vehicle to drive, we run low boost (12psi) and don't see our EGT's over 350 degrees, an intercooler will be on the list when we turn the boost up
@hamishbf7612
3 жыл бұрын
@@eroz493 Cheers for the reply, I don't reckon i'd be running over 15psi if I get a kit added

@HammerRocks

I have this but I use cam buckle straps instead. Then you can adjust the tension for weight. As after a while oki straps start to lose their tension and will start to sag, or can carry less and less weight - even just carrying pillows of jumpers etc.

Very nice 80 and great set up. I had to subscribe to follow her around. A couple of notes for you. Most people don't realise that a backwards facing snorkel is reducing the potential air flow into the turbo. As the fast flow air goes past the out it creates a negative pressure which tries to sucks air out of the turbo when the turbo is trying to suck air in. Diesels need lots of air and why we have turbos. The faster you go the worse it is. I believe your jb turbo is a CT26 copy. A Toyota CT26 has large Toyota brand on it not jb. The high flow part is the internal chambers have been opened out to make them larger and smoothed for free flowing. I like your neat rear wall set up. Also like your water drum set up. I made something similar but in the wagon of my 80. Your 12v looks the part as well. When you started her up there was some noise like exhaust banging that could be due to sad engine mounts?? Very good set up all round and a great camp spot
@eroz493
3 жыл бұрын
thanks for the support mate! I appreciate the heads up about the snorkel, running low boost the ram affect for cooling is not as inportant. We have been running the jbturbo kit for quite some time now, the copy seems to be coping with everything we have thrown at it so has been good! We appreciate the kind words, the rattle was the exhaust slightly hitting a cross memeber
