I ran into 2 issues. I ran the equation and came out with 2793 for my tires. I selected Vehiconfig4, and when I went to input the 2793, the original number was 56xxxmm. Why is the number so high and not the 2793 I input? Do I still continue and change it to 2793, then run ABS initialization? The other issue I have is, my parking sensors and Automatic Emergency Braking were disabled after I did the tire size change. I redid it and got them to work, but now my parking sensor warning in the instrument cluster doesn't beep (even though I have it enabled in the settings). I'd appreciate any help!
@dieselrebel4
6 ай бұрын
The 2793 should be right. 56XXX would be way too high, so not sure why it displayed that on yours. Might retry the ABS initialization step to get parking sensors to work. People have reported issues with parking sensors when they go 2700 or above try lowering it to 2690 or so and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work follow Daverous steps in this thread 5thgenrams.com/community/threads/tire-size-change-alfaobd-now-bunch-of-codes-lights-wont-go-away.28792/#post-812036

@@dieselrebel4 I spoke with Alexey, the alfaobd creator. He suggested skipping Vehiconfig4 and just running ABS initialization. I did, and when I ran the fault check, it came up with a u0402 (not receiving messages from the TCM). I cleared it, ran it again, had no faults, then finished the initialization. Parking sensors and AEB work, and my digital speedometer in the cluster is spot on with GPS. It's still 2-3mph off on the actual speedometer, but I'll live with that. Trans is shifting better and mpg has already gone up. I ended up setting the tires at 2655mm. Thanks for the response and the help!

Dumb question, can you leave the dongle plugged in and tuck it away with the ODB2 reader attached or must you plug the 2 items back into the SGM like stock to operate the truck?
@Jackal_Blitz
8 ай бұрын
Yes to the cable, but not the Bluetooth dongle. The SGW just blocks things from the OBD port from making changes to certain parts of the vehicle software - it doesn't affect operation at all, so there's no harm leaving it plugged in. However, the OBD dongle does draw from the battery at all times, so leaving it plugged in permanently would have you calling tow trucks pretty regularly.

So it's basically located behind and slightly above the transmission release strap. FYI, if you have the 2500 or the 3500 it's behind the dash, you have to disassemble it to get at it. The 1500 is much easier!

@dieselrebel4
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, happy with it so far. I didn't get the transmission tune yet, but thinking about doing that as well. Install is super easy, the taking off of stock parts not so much. I took everything off just crawling underneath in my truck in my driveway. It would be easier with a car lift, but is definitely doable yourself without. I took extra time to be sure and unplug and unbolt everything rather than cutting anything with a Sawzall like some suggest, so I can reinstall if need be to sell the truck or to just sell the parts themselves. It took me probably 6 hours because I had to figure out what all I needed to unplug and take loose and then some plugs and bolts on top of the cat were a pain to get to. Sawzall definitely would have saved time, but am happy I took the hard route and have all stock parts intact. Install of the new exhaust took less than 30 minutes. I took tons of pictures of each step in case I needed to reinstall for some reason, so was thinking of making a manual for others to use, if they wanted it.
