Is this the solution for the code p2187?
@thtcarcouple8673
2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. I wouldn't use a code to replace just a part. Mine didn't have any codes, but I noticed alot of oil burning. Being that code 2187 is bank specific, I would look more into something that is only on that bank. The pcv would affect all cylinders more than just one bank. Very well could be intake manifold gasket on that bank though, as well as a number of other things. Best bet is to run some real diagnostics on it.

@@thtcarcouple8673 I've taken it to numerous mercedes dealerships and local mechanics and no one was able to find the problem. They said we think your car has a tune, and you should take it to a tuner and get the tune removed.

How hard was it to remove the T30 screw holding on the PCV? Mine moved a little loose (maybe 1/16 of a turn) but it's not loose anymore. I'm afraid crank on it anymore fearing it will break the threads or the screw since the manifold is that brittle material.

Should be fairly easy. I would try spraying some deep creep made by seem foam on it and turning it back and forth lightly to try and work it loose.

Hey, thanks for the video! I'm currently starting this job on an 08 s63 with the same motor, I'm wondering if you have any tips for removing the front electrical connectors. (The bank of 4 of them at the front of the intake manifold.) They're giving me a hell of a time and I don't want to break them as they are old and brittle plastic. (I have no idea if I can get replacement connectors from Mercedes and re-pin the connector.)

A stock 2jz cannot handle 1500 hp...nor can a stock ls make 600....now ls you're talking about a motor with TWICE the displacement. You have to build both. This is completely stock engine with a bigger turbo. It's comparable to the capabilities of the 2jz.

@thtcarcouple8673
3 жыл бұрын
That code is only for one bank though. I would read into your o2 sensors and create a rich condition and make sure the the o2 sensor responds correctly to make sure its reading right, then narrow down whats cause the lean condition weather it's lack of fuel or excess air. Could also check for vacuum leaks along the intake runner on bank 1, I know they sometimes crack. Hope you get it!
@GlassfilmWeddings

@thtcarcouple8673
3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily but I would make sure your o2 responds correctly. Easiest way with that car is probably to run propane through the intake if you have a way to read the o2 voltage you should see it richen up when the propane runs through, considering it's only one bank I would lean more towards intake but since you are already right there might as well do the pcv too.
