I have an M535 Pro, I bought mine because i live near the sea, the deck on a steel motor only lasts a couple of year before rusting, the allo deck on this mower is still good, I bough mine in 2007 or 2008, I can’t remember the exact year. I haven’t had the washer problem or any problem with the front wheels.

I bought this mower recently and used it for the first time last weekend. Very disappointed with it, I didn't realise when I ordered it that it only goes up to 60mm which is just under 2.4 inches in height. I have a very large garden and I like to mow some areas higher than other areas. My previous husqvarna which I had for 10 years was far better. This mower is probably fine if the entire garden has closely cut lawn but it's very overpriced for what it is, I will have to try and trade it in now and get something else as its not suitable for my needs.

@@marymaybin3662 Mary, thanks for your message, I had actually planned to post an update on my previous opinion here, I've decided to keep the mower, I was disappointed with the height at first but my grass is adjusting to it now that I've used it a couple of times. It is a pity that it doesn't go up higher but I'm going to leave some more wild areas in my garden for biodiversity. Otherwise it is a very good mower and it's fast and tough.

Exactly what fire proof cloth material did you use? I tried this today after my first friction washer shit the bed. I cut a piece out of fireproof charging bags you use for lipo batteries and it worked great for around 10 minutes until it pulverised itself back into its atomised state lmfao.. As a side note I used to do professional landscaping for 3 years and not once did we have the need to replace a friction washer. 5 lawnmowers running pretty much 8 hours a day every summer. Not one. This does have me pretty heated right now as ive only used my 553 4 times and I already need a new one. Sigh

@@nicksmith8471 lol seriously dude it really is upside down. think about it, why would the outside of the blade (where it travels closest to the edge of the deck) need to create negative lift, essentially driving the grass down away from the cutting tip. the way the mulch blade works is by lifting the grass up at the edge of the deck then driving them down at the middle of the deck. incase you don't believe me kzitem.info/news/bejne/pZ5r03V9qZqDn34

Hi Nick. Thank you very much for this video; what a nice place and estate there! I was also in trouble to find any good (or any anyway) review of this mower; probably to its "smaller brother" LB 548S e. Thanks for the details and showing nice pics of it. Also for the review after one year in use!! I am using a Husqvarna Rider R112C for about 4 years now and I am very happy with it. In order to reach the smaller parts of the garden and to do the clean up, the LB 548 will do the job in future. What is not quite clear to me is the construction to adjust the elevation of the handle...are there different slots to do this or is this done by stepless lever and fixing it by nut and bolt? Have a nice time, Dirk.
@nicksmith8471
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dirk. I haven't messed around with the handle adjustment at all... main reason is I have a nasty habit of stripping bolts. There is no vertical adjustment only sisd to side... I'm guessing if you want to mow on an angle/ hill. I would invest in a ride on but my lawn is all over the place with peaks and troughs so a smaller cutting deck makes sense. My recommendation would be after 2 years of running this thing at the higher end of the Husqi product range is go for a top end purchase if you have a big lawn... hopefully we'll have these mowers running for 15 - 20 years with good care. Wishing you all the best! Nick

Good review and good camera work. Hope you remembered to remove the spark plug lead before you worked on the blade ..... I was particularly interested in the shot of the underneath. I have been given one of these mowers which I am restoring. I was surprised that there is no cover for the Vee belt on the underside as I would naturally think it must get saturated by grass cuttings ? Initially I assumed the previous owner had removed it and not put it back...having seen your machine it is apparent no such Item is fitted. Thank you.

Thanks. The mower was bought new, there was no cover. The belt runs fine and doesn't get clogged with grass even with little maintenance. Good point though... I did think this at the beginning but after 2 years of ownership its running really well. I clear the underside after every other mow and grass doesn't make it up into the belt. Thanks for the spark plug removal tip!

Nice review, I want one of these so thanks. Pity the deck isn't alloy as the steel rots quite quickly. Honda engine bodes well. How easy is it to fold down the handle for transportation? Mulching feature seems to work well as no visible clippings.

I've been using it for 2 years now and no rotting issues on the cutting deck... I don't even keep it that clean between cuts. I haven't folded down the handle as I don't transport it anywhere, that said I wouldn't want to undo the bolt regularly without maintaining it with grease and I fear that would make it loose or strip the thread if I didn't grease it.

Hello Nick, great review, I’m planing to buy this mower, but my dilemma is between lb 553s E and 553s. Only difference is handles. which is your recommendation?
@nicksmith8471
5 жыл бұрын
There is almost zero vibration in the handle in the Se version. However, there is some lateral handle movement now and again which requires tightening up the big nut in the middle. This is mainly from using the mower on an angled slope. I hope it doesn't result in the nut becoming less effective as it ages.
