That is a real good st strip grind! Way better choice than some of the other hyd cams with similar 050 duration figures. That line of cams even though its been around awhile work so well!

It definitely gets the job done. Went 13.26 at 108mph my first time out, spinning all through first. I need slicks and a better rear end to do this motor any justice.

With a cam that aggressive...you gonna need more air. Those heads will restrict at about 3500-4000. At least that was our experience when we did the comp bump by heads. Did you pocket port?

Yes I ported the runners and opened up the throats to about 90% valve diameter. yea it definitely lays down up top

I had a similar Comp Cams camshaft in a 400 sbc in my 68 Camaro. 292 advertised. 244 at 50. Ran real nice with 411 gears.

I had 80 Malibu coupe with 80s Camaro 305 heads valve job port polished on a 67 283 4 bolt block with balanced scat rotating assembly and a dry sump ran amazing launched hard and good cruiser never lost a dig only lost to divorce

sounds like a wicked build. I'm going to get some driving footage of this setup before I change it up again, I was surprised at how much low end torque these heads were still able to produce, with a Vic Jr no less

Not bad, not great. It'll still roast the tires all the way through first gear but doesn't pull as hard as it used to through second/third

@@t.j.johnson7026 probably. plan is to clean up and port the dart heads I had on before, upgrade the retainers / springs for more lift and throw in a oval track SFT cam with some lift.

I measured mine before porting and they were 60 cc on combustion and 168 cc intake runners.

The ct101 cam sounds good and runs dosnt do bad with ported 416s. I had the same setup on my channel.

It runs decent, I think it needs more cylinder head. Has great bottom end torque but doesn't pull as hard as I'd like past 3500

@colinjohnson7663 I watched some of you other videos. I had a 350 with ported 416 heads and a ct101 cam with a saginaw 4 speed and 4.10s 7.5 rear in my monte it ran good now building a 400 sbc

@colinjohnson7663 it was steetable I had a tr6060 in it but never videoed it. I put the 4 speed back in but it idle about 900or so had a eddy 750 I believe a stock but new hei distributor on the heads I cut the valve guides down put screw in stud ls6 valve springs with comp 787 retainers

That's a rare bird anymore! 👍 Can't remember the last time I saw one. How is that cam working out for you? How far does it pull? I'm not convinced that high lift cams are really necessary.

it's a pretty good cam, probably needs more cylinder head than the Dart SS that I have. it pulls well to at least 6100-6200, that's where I lose my nerve and shift it lol. With 4.10's even a slight clutch pop means squealing tires right from idle basically.

Depends...couldnt tell a difference between .670 lift and .600 except less wear on the guides. Was there any loss of power? If there was I sure couldnt tell..
