Hi Laura, thanks for your important question. Nowhere on our boots do we have made in Vietnam as we only hand make all of our UGG Boots here in Australia. There are however many other brands under the name 'UGG' who do not make their UGGs in Australia. It's sad that now the country Australia or the original creator and distributor of 'UGH boots' cant make or sell UGG shoes themselve. UGH/Ugg boots refers to flat heel, pull on, Sheepskin boots in Australia. They have been making and wearing it since 1920s and before. It's like household name, generic name that anyone can use word 'UGG' for sheepskin boots in Australia. But as surfing popularised ' Ugg boots' outside Australia and New Zealand. The smart one in U.S trademark the name 'UGG' and now its Brand name owned by Giant Deckers. Before it was sold under the name Original Australian Ugg Boot, UGG Australia. But now it's just UGG brand. It's like you are not allowed to say ur own country's language/word, in ur own country, which you have been speaking for ages. As it is already stolen by wealthy clever people.

@@musicalHootenanny Thanks John. As we expected, you are dealing with a different UGG company. We are "UGG Since 1974", our website is www.uggsince1974.com.au. We are located at 23 Christine Ave Miami, QLD. The company, address, phone number etc you have included above are for another company. You are dealing with the company simply called "UGG" - they have a different website as you have copied and pasted above. We are completely unrelated. For a start, we are Australian owned and Australian made, whereas the company you are dealing with does not make any of its boots in Australia (you could check inside for the sew in label to see where they were made) and is an American owned company. There is more about the differences between our two companies, which are entirely unrelated, here: www.uggsince1974.com.au/blogs/news/uggsince1974vsdeckersoutdoorcorporation This discussion just goes to show how confusing UGG boots are to buy - you'd be surprised how many customers insist they have purchased our UGG boots but have actually bought from a different company, and they aren't made in Australia. We posted it above, but perhaps it would be helpful for you to read this article too, which explains why there are so many UGG companies around: www.uggsince1974.com.au/blogs/news/why-are-there-so-many-different-ugg-companies-and-websites Glad we've been able to get to the bottom of this though and as set out above, all of OUR boots have removable innersoles, so we'd love to make you a pair one day. Quite thought provoking. On the one hand it is amazing to see the entire operations of the business happen in Australia, which is why I bought from them and will continue to do so. On the other hand it seems in order to survive as a company they have had to get very 'creative' with marketing and completely leave the roots of what UGG boots are by creating a tacky 'high fashion' image in order to reach a wider market by reducing the bogan stigma of wearing UGG boots outside and audaciously trying to re-imagine them as a luxury fashion item LOL. What would the surfers who first utilized these boots to keep their feet warm when they came out of the surf have to say about this extremely vain and capitalistic path? Would they be pleased that the UGG boot has survived by capitalizing on vanity and marketing or would they have preferred the UGG boot to stay obscurity with soul intact?

Lol it’s just a shoe… and surfers weren’t the 1st to wear them, which was in the 80’s. It started in the 60’s, probably even before that as a very crude footwear. And surfers doesn’t own the legacy of these boots, Australia as a whole does!

Hi Britta! Thanks for watching. Here are our recommendations to protect other materials you might have on your UGGs: Nappa Leather - buff with a cloth and standard leather protector periodically. You could use a leather protector for your ordinary leather shoes or couch etc. Bomber - buff with a cloth and standard leather protector periodically. Calf skin - do not treat with any protector products. Any calf skin components of your boots should be treated with care as the hides can be delicate. We hope this helps :) Have a lovely day!

Ugg isn’t a brand, but a generic term for a type of shoe originated in Australia mad eout of sheepskin. The Ugg Australia brand ha snothing to do with Australia except the name. The original founder who brought Ugg to CA was an Aussie surfer, but it’s all made in China now, like most things because it’s cheaper, so neither Australian made nor Australian owned. What you pay for is the “brand”, an overpriced low quality Ugg boot compared to other Australian owned and Australian made brands. I’ve had Ugg Australia, and they ended up in the garbage after one wear. My Emu Australia, and Jumbo Ugg boots, still going strong after almost 10+ years. Wouldn’t say fake, just not authentic in neither name nor manufacturing processes as they don’t use Australian Merino Wool fleece. You wanna buy Uggs? Support Australian made brands!
