@ASTREAREDUXTT No, it's the other way around. Sylvian and his band Japan acknowledged that they were heavily influenced by YMO back in the early 80s.

Sakamoto never stole anything from david Sylvian. Both Sylvian and Sakamoto have always said that they mutually influences and inspired each other. Same thing with the brilliant Takahasi and the great Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe). That time period was very special in the history of pop music, w/artists from Japan and Europe coming together to create some of the greatest, most original songs in the past 40 years or so.
