But it doesn’t have stainless steel frets does it? Also I play and drop C and plan on using a Digitech drop pedal to get it down to drop A # I have the new Jackson Roman signature pro series baritone (the green one that just came out) and had it plekd and set up by one of best Luthers around traveling musicians even go to him from out of state to get set ups. But we could not get rid of all of the fret buzz no matter what gauge string we used or how much relief we provided, etc. etc. and it’s speced out to the max. Graphite nut stainless steel frets GOTOH hard tail, bridge, locking tuners, etc. etc. it’s a nice rig honestly and if I was just playing completely distorted, it wouldn’t be an issue, but some of my verses are clean and I’ll be using it for recording purposes. So even though I’ve spent a lot of money getting it set up, I’m going to have to return it so the plan is to find another guitar that will tune well for drop C and then just use a digital drop pedal to get it down to drop A#Which is where the baritone is tuned at the moment. I’ve tried using string dampers above the nut etc and still can’t get rid of it all. I really think it’s just a baritone thing to be honest because I’ve tried three different baritones LTDEC 1000 baritone which I would not ever recommend to anyone to be honest it was complete crap like a lot of the stuff LTD has been putting out lately. I’m not about to pay $1500 for something that has a plastic nut and doesn’t even have stainless steel frets. . I really like these kinds of bridges just because they’re easier to work with but now that I’m looking at standard 25.5 scale guitars with 24 frets I’m having issues just finding one and that price range that has decent features I also tried the Jackson pro plus XT soloist baritone which was a little better than the LTD as far as specs are concerned, but it had just as much buzz issues. I even put a 72 gauge on the low E just for drop a# which should be no problem for baritone whatsoever. So needless to say, I’m done with the baritones. I’ll attach a few links that I had my eyes on, but every one of them has their likes and dislikes. Sorry you're not having any luck with that Jackson. It happens sometimes. I've only had one baritone guitar ever and I only played it a couple times. The LTD EC1008 ET. I wanted to like it because everything was on point with that one. Nice build quality. Played good and everything but the Les Paul body shape just doesn't work for me. I used to tune to C standard on a couple of 24 3/4 scale Jacksons and never had issues so I don't think the baritone thing is necessary. I was using 15-56 gauge strings. Both guitars had Floyds on them. Nice thing about Floyds is you can change string gauges without having to have the nut slots worked on. Also, I get why people want stainless frets but personally I feel they aren't needed. Stainless frets are a relatively new trend. Guitars have had nickel frets since forever and it works fine. Both have their pros and cons but either one works for me. I wouldn't make a purchasing decision based on that. Jumbo frets have plenty enough material to do a few level and crowns before a re-fret would be needed. It would take years to get to that point. Best argument for stainless is for people who use a capo a lot those things trash your nickel frets. As for fret buzz, how low are you setting the action? I know a few players in the real world that have really unrealistic expectations of what a guitar can do in that area. Super low action like 1mm or lower will have buzz unless you're picking incredibly lightly. It's just physics. The string has to have room to vibrate and create a standing wave. Super low action is also a tone killer. If you have it set really low, raise it up to 1.5mm at the 12th fret and see how that works. Keep in mind, with a heavy picking hand it will still have some buzz at 1.5mm but it's low enough that combined with lighter picking during clean sections you should be able to clean it up completely. And finally, guitar recommendations. Any of those you linked should be able to do what you want as long as you have realistic expectations for string height. Since you're spending money to get your guitar setup after the purchase, I'd consider buying something cheaper honestly. My favorite guitars are some of these Charvels that I got for crazy low prices then just had the luthier fix them up. I haven't done it yet but my black DK24 hardtail (got it for like 600 bucks) might get the fat strings and low tuning treatment. I have a 7 string for going really low and a Solar that's tuned to C# standard but my lowest tuned Charvel is D standard at this time. Good luck dude! Hope you get it worked out soon.

Out of guitar, into Axe FX 3, out of Axe FX into mixer, Out of mixer directly into camera. Inside the Axe FX there's not much happening on this one. The only blocks that were active were the amp (Mesa Recto orange model), Cab (John Petrucci Tone Mission Recto IR), delay (ambient stereo delay) and reverb and occasional wah (Cry Baby model). That's it on this one. I often use a phaser and/or a pitch block with a dual detune for more stereo bigness but didn't use it here.

@dmnguitarist
2 ай бұрын
I never learned CAGED. Had it explained to me but still don't get it. I learned the modes when I was a kid and really importantly, I learned how they connect and overlap on the fretboard. To this day it's the map I use to navigate the fretboard when improvising. If you know every note on the fretboard in a given key, whether it's E minor or A minor or whatever, if you know all of the notes available to you all up and down the neck on every string, you already know the modes. Ionian, Aeolian, Phrygian, Locrian, Dorian, Lydian, Mixolydian, it's all the same. You just need the magic decoder ring to see where the modes are in that map of notes you already know. I can't post pictures on here but I have it on X if you want to see it. Once you have those 7 mode shapes memorized, you can fly around the neck in any key/mode with relative ease.
