Thank you sir. Because of toure picture of the inside of youre sniffer, I located my sniffer on a champion 4500 inverter duel fuel. My sniffer dont look like yours.but its got that little blue bow with the round on the outside of it. Its in tray mounted with 2 screws and 3 wire sets going to it. For people with my generator looking for it I want to tell them here to pull the side panel off that is the same side as the pull cord and oil check and the propane attachment. As youre facing the machine, the sniffer is on left side upper. It has 3 seperate wire harnesses going to it. The blue sniffer with round white in the middle is at bottom of that box tray with the wire harness at the top im going to take it off Nd wrap that thing in clear box packing tape. See if that stops the sniffer from shutting down my generator. Its outside and the sniffer shuts it down when there is no wind or if the wind is hard at the backside. It blows the exhaust back into the machine vent. I put a fN on the machine. It still shut down. I want to thank this video guy for showing me what to look for. I had some other thing picked out as a sniffer. It wasn't and im glad I didn't do anything to the other thing. Thats over Bove the dip stick.

Thanks. I have my larger 9400 watt Firman in a purpose built shed. It would trip the sensor even with the doors open and I had the exhaust vented out the side of the shed. I had to jump the two black wires on mine. the sensor is behind the main panel above the start knob. You can access the wire harness without removing anything.

I have the same WH03242 generator. I removed the CO Module and noticed a lot of corrosion, I opened it, and there was corrosion all over the box and on the actual board. I ordered a new CO module from firman, last Thursday and it finally showed up today. I taped the sensor and all the vents with foil tape BUT it did not work. I am thinking that all the corrosion might be the problem with my generator, I will try method 2 next since I'm on the road and really need my generator. Thank you

I have a T08072. The jumper solution worked like a charm. The wires are both black in my case and the connector is hard to reach on this unit. My generator is in a cabana far from the house with two lateral door on opposite sides. This thing kept on stopping every 10 minutes both doors wide open even with a large fan blowing air from the outside. Big thank you to you, problem solved. The company did not want to help at all. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Thank you for your video, I've just purchased a Firman TO7573 and managed to jump it, using small paper clip. For the TO7573 it's the 2black wires, then wrapped the connector with electrical tape.

I have a similar sensor on my Champion 2500 inverter generator. Do you think covering the membrane with superglue or some sort of silicone sealant would work or would that seep into it and cause a fault?

Hi , At 5.18 minutes. you said the CO sensor grounds out the ignition module when it senses CO, I’m wanting to install a thermal switch to shutdown the generator in the event of Hi temps. What wire coming out of the CO sensor is grounding out the ignition? Wanting to break into that wire and install a N.O thermal switch that goes to ground and will shutdown the generator. Alternatively you said the gen won’t run without the CO alert,is there a single feed wire to the CO that I can interrupt with a N.C thermal switch to achieve a shutdown ? Thanks
@pilotdog68

Hi, the yellow and green wires that I talk about jumping at 3:10 are the wires that are being grounded to shutdown the ignition. Alternatively the Brown wire provides power to the CO module, so interrupting that would cause a CO fault and shut it down as well. Though if I remember correctly that method would not be instantaneous, it takes a few seconds delay for it to sense a fault. You can see the wiring diagram on Firman's website, or at the top right at 8:46

@@pilotdog68 Hi, thanks for responding so fast! A little confusion on the three yellows… to clarify , when the CO unit detects CO it grounds the yellow that goes back to the ignition coil (yellow next to green on the CO unit) and cuts the motor? If I splice one side of a N.O thermal switch into that yellow (the other side going to ground) in the event of an over temp scenario the thermal switch closes and the motor will shutdown? Want to be sure before I cut wires… With using the brown instead, when you say seconds is it under 10 seconds? Appreciate the help

@pilotdog68

It's unlikely that it would be inside the control panel box because the sensor has to get air to it, but it's certainly possible you will have to remove the fuel tank to see it.

Unless the manual for your generator is wrong, it's still the green and yellow wires that come out of the same white sleeve together. But yours has remote start, so like I said in the video I'm not sure if you need to do anything with the blue wire or not. I'd try jumping green and yellow and see if it works before messing with blue.
