What a player. Couldn’t get the ball off him - on his day. Strength, skill & technique is a scary combination. 😊

He was a liability in that Liverpool team whenever he got isolated. Can't have that Infront of our backline, which is average at best. Maybe against smaller teams which will sit back and defend - not against the better opposition though.

It’s not the players he has. It’s him, pep transforms players. See John stones, see foden. And it’s like that in every team he has Managed. These small team coaches would say anything to defend their mediocrity

Players seem to play their best football under Pep, can't be a coincidence. Nathan Ake, Akanji, these type of players were good but Pep seems to make them world-class.

That is a very silly take. It’s even stupid when you think about it. Arteta has the players and the team, the funds as well. Tuchel has the team too Pochettino in psg had the team- imagine having Messi Neymar Mbappe, Ramos, Marquinhos Hakimi and still nothing Pep is a great Coach and if you can’t manage your small teams, what makes you think you can manage the big teams where egos fly high all over the dressing room

When Pep took over, Barca came third the previous season. He brought in Busquets from Barca B who everyone thought was terrible, made a couple signings, made bold decisions such as dropping key players, then took Barca to winning the sextuple. At City almost every signing he’s made he has improved them, you’re acting like Stones, Rodri, Foden, Dias, Bernardo were some of the best players in the world when Pep signed them/took over. The only argument you can make is that he achieve anything particularly amazing with Bayern, which is fair.

This logic doesn’t make sense, so if you’re Alex Ferguson you’d take the Aberdeen job over man united ? Why would you go to the lower clubs if the big clubs want you? It’s never made sense. The big clubs want him because he’s the best

@@ozgecko4050 thing too is just cuz you a manager and go to huge clubs doesn’t mean you gonna succeed. Look at ten Haag now at man utd. Or Poch at Chelsea and we’ll see how Kompany does at Bayern next season.

Barcelona's players were considered flops before pep came in despite winning the ucl in 2006. none were motivated anymore and masia players had no sense of direction and were about to be sold. Xavi famously had a terrible season in 2008, had a bad euro, and was on his way out and asked pep if he was needed. With the rumors that mourinho was being considered to be the head coach, that meant ALL young players aka masia players were on their way out because mourinho prefers older players with experience. City had to replace the whole squad to fit peps technical needs. He wants players that are good with the ball technically, and have a fast brain to learn things fast. Besides jacks $100m purchase, city never bought players for more than $40m, and never bought established superstars like Real Madrid.
