Madame CJ Walker legacy Has intentional claims that She was the first Black Woman to do this and the first ever that on behalf of the cosmetic industry. Those claims are non accredited and fraudulent when given a chance to prove otherwise, because CJ's family and business colleagues are using her name and ethnicity to mislead US, for the brand name sake, but it's still a fake mistake . . Her so called lineage has allowed intentional false claims to suggest that CJ Walker CO. and legacy was the first to have a professional hair care brand and cosmology institution, that the ANNIE MALONE'S LEGACY deserve to have claimed. The Annie Malone brand has benefited the black COMMUNITY greatly during her time, a pure blessing to OUR COMMUNITIES 🎥

I saw this mini series about her on Netflix. Her character was portrayed as someone who really thought she wasn't attractive but she seemed to overcome that as the story developed..Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. I thought she looked beautiful in all the old portraits. Sad how our society then and now have made us perceive beauty in such a narrow minded way.❤

Well, I've read on both these: "Grand Dame Pioneers" I've also watched the Netflix series. Before I get the hate, boo's, & scrutiny,,,Please allow me to type in "my" views. I believe Madame Annie was truly the 1st Self Made Millionaire from her product. She sold door to door, brought on Madame C.J. as w/hundreds of thousands other Great Ladies to learn & sell her product, Entrepreneur in her own right. Philanthropist, Built Scool of Cosmetology, School of Hair Salon, hiring employees from within the Community. Her Legacy shall have eternal inspiration, diligence & heart to all generations. Yes, Madame C.J. was also a self made Millionaire from her former employers product which she may of "perhaps" "Marketed-Promoted" a tad above diligently. She too employed from w/in Community, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, Inspiration & also Eternal Legacy for all generations. My view is that of a Metaphor, Both of these Fine Ladies Had a Vision a Dream to Create A solution for Women of Color to enjoy their natural beautiful hair tresses, locks. I have no qualms typing this--they "BOTH" Stamped their Names & History for All To know that Hard Work, Perseverance, Discipline> Results are endless. Thank You "Both"💕 p.s. We truly cannot rank these Ladies, Nor add "unethical/illegal" For simple reason, the same ingredients used in both Ladies products-- were taken from early 1700 when women's hair was falling out from sulphur. They Both just revamped each's product. (Research if in doubt)

I'm reading many comments of displeasure on the choices made when restoring. It's a warning to everyone who has their own to keep it in the family. But because it's on the Historic list it will never be torn down. Built by the first black licensed architect in the state of NY and owned by a earliest black female millionaire

I loved the documentary, but I was wondering if they kept any of the original colors. The beige, gold, and cream colors are beautiful. But I believe she would have had more color in her original home, and I was glad to see that depicted in the Netflix movie. I'd also love to see the original furniture. I believe it was all sold at an estate sale many moons ago. What an incredible story.

Noone can confirm weather Annie Malone nor Madame Walker was the first...but more so ONE OF the first. History has said that there were other self made millionaires during that time
George Bond the designer should not have said that pink and white was a totally wrong. . It was choose by Madam, the owner of the house. It was rude and impolite. professionally he should have spoken differently , even not being in agreement with the original color.
