Meant to say this earlier but amazing work man, this is the end all be all for IR packs for me. Literally haven’t gotten or used any other IR’s since your first announcement of this pack. Already having a lot of fun using the IR’s to build my own sound

What kind of sorcery is this?? Seriously, man, what you've accomplished here is astonishing. I'm in awe. All the hard work. You threw yourself at this with a passion that is inspiring. And you have absolutely nailed it. That Nevermind advance was so spot on as well, it's fucking insane. This is incredible. Much respect.

I hope there will be a Bleach IR pack at some point! I love the vibe of that album so much it's just very stripped down and simple. It doesn't sound massive but it does something I like that I can't quite pin down

As everyone here I firstly have to say: WOW You did it ! and how good !! Now I have a question, surely a stupid one but hey, if I don't ask I will never know. How will your IR sound with a stock strat or a super strat or, why not, an ES335 cause I ain't got no Jaguar, nor Mustang, nor Mosrite even nor Veleno yet ? Will it stay close to the original or will I get something quietly different ?

Sounds amazing. I always wanted to be able to sound like Pennyroyal Tea or Sappy. So explain to me like I'm 5 how to do this. I'm a basement player with stomp boxes and a couple amps, and just heard about what an IR is when this video came out. I don't have or use any "interfaces" or recording software. I just want to plug in and sound like this sometimes. How do I do it? Can I download the pack into an IR pedal like the TC Electronics IR loader pack and use it like a stomp box into my amp? Because I can't get a straight answer online saying I can do that or not. Just tell me the easiest way to play and have fun with these sounds when I play my amp. Thanks!

For an IR to sound right you need what is called a FRFR (Full Range Flat Response) Speaker. E.g Studio monitors or some neutral headphones. A normal guitar speaker, and even more so a complete amp would color the tone strong enough that it will sound very different. If you want to use IRs with your existing Amp you would need an amp with a cabinet output, that you can connect to a load box that simulated the load of a speaker while only having a 1/4” line level connector. You can then use that line out to feed it into some IR loader and the result to some FRFR speakers. Note that this will typically get you the tone of a miced amp hearing it in the recording room console.

Ok, thanks. So a line out to a cab with FRFR speakers. No problem, I do a line out to a couple cabs already. What's a load box though, and why do I need it? Any recommendations for a cheap one?
@aptfx

@@aaronward3602 it depends on your amp. With normal tube amps if you don’t connect a real speaker which creates a „load“ against the amp, you might break your amp. If you’re using some kind of digital amp like Boss Katana there typically is an „Amp out“ that you can directly use

Thanks man. Reading more about this, maybe it doesn't make sense for me after all. I didn't know that the pedals are needed too - I'd be copying the speaker tone. I already have a 2x12 with 1973 Utah 16 ohm speakers and a vintage Sansamp. I'd be just be buying all this stuff to replace the cabinet tone I already have...I thought everything about the tone was there in the download.

also can annyone tell me the difference between the standard ir, a clean one and a dist one? is it just for preferences ? i thought i need one IR made of one cab and its for all use cases of that specific cab since no matter wich of the IRs i use its anyway always clean if i dont use my distorion pedal
@BrunaHera

it's bc speakers react differently if you're using distortion or not, if he had not done the dist ir it wouldn't sound right
